Veg momos steamed & fried were both tasty but limited variety. Service was good. Suggested to dine in & have it hot. Restaurant is quite small & compact.

The mark of a good restaurant is not necessarily its size, but the quality of its food and the generosity of its staff. Along that line, some of the finest fast food experiences I've had throughout my career have been in the small diners and dives scattered throughout the suburbs of DUBAI "YALLA MOMO "is not among these gems.

The location of the makes it appears promising, regardless of whether they choose to sit at one of the three outdoor tables or one of the four tables set up indoors. This is fortunate, considering the fact that as we approached Yalla, fully intending to take a seat inside, we noticed layers of bird droppings and cigarette ash caked onto the tables and chairs. We suppose we should have taken that as an omen, but being drawn in by the concept of a MOMOS as to what such a Varieties of MOMOS consisted of, we decided to press on.

The seats inside the restaurant were not much better than those outdoors, but was maintained with small baby chairs and tables and observed clean. Looking around, we only noticed 4 tables with 8 small chairs and 4 customers. Since it was dinner time on Sunday evening, this should have been my second warning signal, but I still continued on in our culinary adventure.

Five minutes after we sat down, a man approached table for order, we began with the diner's trademark "MOMO" that had intrigued us enough to draw us to the restaurant in the first place. We also ordered side of fries, a side of Oreo Shake, 2 cokes, after we finished our meal.

The only other customers we had spotted were the original two Couples we saw when we first came. We decided to give the hasty waiter one final chance to redeem himself by asking him about what exactly made the "Yalla Momos" so special. The information on the menu had been sparse at best and provided me with no clues. Our server simply shrugged his shoulders and replied, “It’s just a MOMO,” before shuffling back off to the kitchen.

At the very least, we should give him credit for his honesty. The Yalla MOMO is, in fact, just a MOMO. A simple momo with chilli or tomato sauce. No special sauce or other distinguishing features to be found. We will take the blame for my disappointment at its ordinariness, though, seeing as how we did not inquire about what the MOMO consisted of in the first place. What we will not take the blame for, however, is the fact that the MOMO was lukewarm and served on plastic plate. The fries were hot but spiced with chat masala, but otherwise nothing special, and the Oreo Shake was cold but made of nothing but milk , chocolate powder and flavorless chunks of some cookies. Humorously, the "Momo" and everything was priced to the adult portion amount, perhaps, served in child's portion the most honest and straightforward dish of the entire meal, having been about as dry as the Sahara Desert itself.

Visiting the "Yalla Momo was certainly an experience to remember, but one that I never hope to repeat and would not wish upon anyone else. If you are tempted by the luscious reviews and the intriguing at the motivational quotes lined up on the walls, you would be better off bringing a camera to the restaurant than your appetite.

Found this place by chance, I love momos a lot. Reminded me of the original momos I ate from Tibetan/Nepali traders in India. Very consistant taste, Chicken was best for me. You may select from Buff, Shrimp, Chicken or even veg momos. A good choice is to sit outdoor in cooler days. Take care of your momo paper plate which may fly away when almost empty in a windy day. There are only a couple of tables inside though. Very friendly staff, highly recommended if you love momos. Worth a try if you have never tasted one.

Got to know about this place from social Web site Facebook.. Tried it 6-7 months back and ever since have been a regular there. Take all my friends who come from different parts of the globe and everyone cherishes it. There sauces are as well really awesome with the Momos. It's a very small place but always crowded with people, they have got few tables outside as well. They got 8 different kinds of Momos.. have tried all in vegetarian and chicken and yes all were really great. They even do fried Momos but the best ones are steamed as they are the original ones. A must try for any Momos or dumplings lover. Simply awesome!!!!
