“Not for the family . OK if you are looking for a brothel”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

I stayed for 2 nights in early March and never again. To start wiith the receptionist was very unfriendly and refused to give me a room on arrival at 10am even though i had a confirmation printout stating the same.
The free wifi advertised was not free but 15DH an hour (£3) unless you were prepared to go to the bar and use it there which was a big NO NO for me as i am a Muslim and dont drink and i had my young niece with me who wanted to use it.
The advertised free parking was 10 minutes walk away.
But what really annoyed me was the fact that the hotel had 3 noisy bars the noise from which reverberated throughout the bedrooms and the fact that the bars were quite blatantly facilitating open prostitutioin. I watched the staff at the hotel and it was clear that they were clearly involved in what was going on and this was nothing more than a brothel for westerners. For the locals the prostitutes were on the street corner right outside the hotel.
I would not recommend this to anyone with a family.
OK if you were looking for a brothel.

Room Tip: dont bother with this one

This hotel is well positioned for quick access to Metro, Dubai Creek, Burjaman Mall, Main bus Station as well as bus routes. This is a very noisy hotel with the York Club that runs until 3am daily. So if u use their services, suggest a room on 7th floor.
A real rip off was stating that entrance fee to Bollywood club is free. Just ordering a pepsi and orange juice cost AED 90. This is daylight robbery. You dont even pay this in Paris or Europe. They should rather charge an entrance fee or visitors should ask upfront what drinks cost.
The showers did not mix well. Either too cold water or too hot water. Decent breakfast.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the top floors if you wish to catch a little sleep to take on the next day

This is like a TWO star hotel. The management is un reliable. We forewarned the manager that our arrival was very early in the morning and requested for a shuttle but in VAIN!. no shuttle arrived. They gave away our room!. It was a terrible experience I would not reccomend it to any one.

Room Tip: Holiday Inn is a safer hotel to book

I stayed here for 2 night (21&22 Feb). Small room with old furnitures. Small bathroom but it is clean. Breakfast is not bad but you will get bored after 2 days (same menu). It has few clubs in the hotel, so there are lot of Filipino girls here (you know what it means). But despite all that I like this place as right outside is the al Faridi Metro station & lot of cheap dining places. Taxis are easy to get as well (fyi: taxi is not tht cheap) So, if u just come to sleep & most of the time not spend in the hotel, this is quite a good place. But dont expect much.

I book this hotel through Bookings.com. Bookings. com is very reliable, I tell you why. I and my wife arrived at the hotel at 2 am, There were some delays in Doha Airport. Upon reaching I just showed the printout from Booings .com. The hotel refuse to accept American Express and told me that if you have any other cards it is fine. So next answer is Visa. I told them that Amex is very good card only thing is that the charges are high.
The staffs, including the bell boy are best in the job, and also in English. The bell boy ( from Goa , India) very humble never expects any tip from me.
There are two staffs notably to be said, One Mr. Munawar, looks like an Indian, the other Miss Marina ( a Philipino) Both of then are very kind \to me and to my wife. any complaints regarding the room, is well taken care of by them. Thank you very much.
I paid for the hotel for 4 days, So on the 3rd day, I have to check out for the reason my flight is at 12 midnight. So there is no point in staying better I do some shopping or something like that. So I approach Miss marina, and asked he if there is any chance you can return my money ( one day for not staying in). Upon checking and phoning Booking.com they paid my money. A few hundred extra in my pocket to spend. Enjoy.
Overall the breakfast is good, you even have oats porridge, (whcih is rare in many hotels) the kitchen staffs are doing their best to entertain us, but the customers are the problem makers. On the first day a family from Pakistan was making noise during breakfast time, it spoilt my mood. the reason is that - the cafe wants to charge fro extra person- normal thing done by the staffs. You don't expect to get every thing free. If I am the hotel owners I wopuld have chased them off.

Room Tip: This hotel is in the centre of the city, metro trains are just by the side of the hotel, a lot of re...

Even mid week, the noise from the disco kept us awake even on the 6th floor. Reception then lied saying that it would finish at 11pm - it continued until 3am. Pity, as it is a good location near al-fahidi metro but i would suggest avoiding it like the plague!

Hi,

I have recently stayed in the hotel for a week and the hotel is just average. Please donot keep high expectations of the same. This hotel has small rooms which is enough for 2 people so no more space to keep your luggage and bags. The pillows of the hotel offered were so hard that we got a neck pain. We asked for soft pillows but they said that they donot have any pillows other than this.

Also, there was a typical smoking smell throughout the lobby which was most irritating of all.

Also, the breakfast offered was just average with not much variety offered. This was sort of boring for us as we had to eat same typical breakfast for a week.

The staff on reception is also not that courteous so as to comfort visitors.

The only advantage that the hotel has is its location. The metro and the bus stops are right out the hotel which gives you convinent access to the various tourist spots of the city

All in All, Avoid this hotel if you wish a comfortable stay.

Room Tip: If you are taking the room in this hotel, please go for higher floors so that you are not getting di...
