“very well looked after”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

we stayed here at the end of January for three days from the minute we got out of the taxi and were met by the doorman we were treated extremely well we received a cold drink in reception whilst being booked in by pinky and her colleague who were delightful. We had booked the executive suite which is extremely comfortable large bedroom and sitting room with fridge , microwave mini bar etc.. You will find all the necessary products you need in the bathroom including nail files and toothbrushes and the free bottles of water each day. Staff in the Sherlock Holmes bar are great and so friendly we ate here one evening and food was lovely and very reasonable.they have a really good group on who will play any requests you may have.we enjoyed the breakfast here and again the staff are friendly and very helpful.
we went on the Jeep safari trip which is great fun followed by the barbecue in the sand dunes well worthwhile and had booked a half day sightseeing trip of Dubai which we found very useful as our guide showed us all the sights and the best places to return to in our own time.this saved us time trying to find places of interest and enabled us to get the most out of the break.

We stayed the Arabian Courtyard Hotel in Bur Dubai for three nights from the 13th February 2014. The hotel is very centrally situated opposite to the Dubai Museum and very convenient for sightseeing. The staff were helpful and friendly, particularly Caroline in the executive breakfast room. Some areas of the hotel are a little tired but overall it was fine. We enjoyed our stay and room 5019, on the front, had a superb view of the museum. The hotel has a number of themed restaurants, we were late back one evening and ate in the Pizza bar which was very good. Many thanks to all the staff.

Room Tip: Initially we were given a room on the back of the hotel which we would not recommend. After a discus...

Arrived at this hotel at 6am after a 14 hour flight. Told by the receptionist that we could pay £30 to check in straight away our wait until 10 when room would be ready. Waited until 10 only to be told by a very rude receptionist that the room is not ready and that check in is not until 2pm. Eventually paid the extra to check in straight away as could not wait 2pm but would have done this earlier if had been correct information. Very poor service as I would have expected more consistent approach due to number of early arrivals.

We appreciate you taking time to post your feedback! Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience caused.

As practiced universally, our earliest time of check-in is at 14:00 hours on day of arrival. Many of our guests who are arriving at very early hours or very late of previous night, they generally book their rooms effective night before to secure their rooms upon arrival. But there are cases, whereas some visitors prefer to wait for check-in time to avoid paying extra or to acquire rooms earlier by paying small supplement. Housekeeping team are assigned to prioritize such room and make it ready at earliest. During non-peak period and when occupancy permits, we do facilitate our guests with early check-in or late checkout without any extra charges but alas it’s not always possible, particularly at a full house situation. In your case, our Reception staff failed to convey the message and describe the procedure effectively. We have addressed the matter to the concerned department and taken serious measures to avoid such occurrences in the future.

Thank you for bringing the matters to our notice which will surely help us to further improve our quality and standard of services. I hope this isolated experience will not completely hinder you from considering a repeat stay with us as we all look forward for an opportunity to regain your trust and change your opinion about Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa.

We booked 2 Deluxe rooms. Before we arrived I emailed the hotel to make sure we had non-smoking rooms and received a friendly and positive reply.
On arrival (by taxi, about £10 from the airport) we were met by a beautifully uniformed doorman, complete with big smile. The luggage was taken from us and taken to the room. On check-in we were told by a very friendly member of staff that we had been upgraded from 2 Deluxe rooms to the Grand Suite - two huge bedrooms with seating areas, 2 bathrooms and a massive sofa and dining area (3 sofas and a dining table with 8 chairs). it was superb and a very welcome upgrade, giving privacy and a sociable area. The room had all facilities, including 2 free bottles of water per day.
The hotel is beautifully decorated with both character and charm (we did not find it tacky in any way). Every member of staff was well trained, polite, helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was a good variety of hot and cold food, including a choice of Indian food, plus an omelette, fried eggs and pancake station. Coffee was plentiful in thermos jugs but tea was a cup of hot water with a tea bag.
We ate in the Italian, attached to the hotel - service was excellent and prompt, the menu is reasonably extensive. The pizzas are not large but very tasty. We also ate in the Chinese/Thai restaurant, another very tasty meal (we ate outside, which was enjoyable). Both were good value. We drank in the Shelock Holmes pub twice - turn right for the non-smoking area - we did not eat here but the food looked very good.
The location is excellent for the old town. The Dubai Museum is worth a visit, very cheap and worth half an hour or so. The atmospheric souks are within easy walking distance and the Creek is wonderful to see and to cross for 1 Dirham (a few well-spent pence). The whole area is for locals who live there, with no international skyscraper hotels and bars. We found nowhere within walking distance to buy a beer or wine apart from the hotel. But, the atmosphere in the area was wonderful, particularly at night (it is a very safe place to walk at night - but you will be constantly asked if you want to buy copy watches, bags or clothes).
We could not fault the hotel. We pre-booked their courtesy bus back to the airport - free and on-time, well worth asking for. We also used their facilities to check-in to our flight and print the boarding passes - the concierge desk helped us with this.
We used taxis to get to the amazing Dubai Mall and Burj Khalif (about £5 each way) and also booked a half day bus tour to learn about the history of Dubai - also well worth doing.
Lastly, wifi is free but needs logging in to (the codes are on the key cards).
If this review is of use to you, please mark it as helpful - if you have any questions about our trip or the hotel, just message me.

Room Tip: The view over the Museum is worth asking for.

Me and my family stayed in this hotel for 14 nights and it was great! The hospitality was amazing, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The night we arrived the door man opened the door of the taxi for us and helped us with the luggage. The rooms are clean, staff are friendly, great services such as, sauna, swimming pool, gym, restaurants, pubs, spa and much more. I would rate this hotel 10/10 and would definatly stay here again. I recommend you stay at this hotel as there are all the facilities outside like shops,a museum and mosque.

Loved this Hotel. Our room was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The position was excellent - great shopping around, excellent vegetarian food (Indian) and only about 600 meters to Metro. Metro system is cheap and easy to follow the routes. Loved the Hotel breakfast and loved the 24 hour cafe in Hotel.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was plesantly surprised. It was in the middle of the old city of Dubai. Beside the museum and in the center of some very fun sidewalk shopping. The doormen/women were dressed in traditional Arabian outfits and really added to the feel of the hotel. Checking in was easy and the receptionists were friendly. I stayed on the Executive floors and had access to free breakfast, coffee and tea. The breakfast was phenomenal! The rooms were very nice and had a flair of Arabian culture. The spa was also very nice and had a very relaxed atmosphere. If you want to walk around old Dubai and window shop this is a great hotel to do just that.

Room Tip: A room with a view of the museum would be my suggestion.
