“A fantastic stay in Dubai with my family of Five.”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We had planned a one week Holiday in Dubai. The welcome at the Hotel was simply great. They took so well care of us, arranged for two wonderful connecting rooms for us where we felt like true Vips.the Manager in person greeted us regularly during our stay and looked after us as if we were their only guests there. Service was impeccable, be it by the Goan Room Boy or their multi national staff at Reception or Restaurants. With all the temptations that Dubai has to offer, we were unable to keep our children from having most of our meals at the Hotel. They truly loved all their Restaurants and their Room Service and found the food to be excellent at all times. Morning Buffet was the main attraction and was stormed by all of us every morning.
Congratulation to the Manager and their wonderful staff and a big Thank You for having made our vacation a perfect one.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the Museum. View is great there....and so peaceful inspite of the traffic b...

A quiet, clean and comfortable hotel next door to the Dubai Fort and museum, the perfect location to explore the treasures of the city. A short walk takes you to the river front where you can catch a ferry for a quick ride to the gold and spice markets. The hotel has all amenities for business, holiday or just passing through. Recommend, if available, the offered upgrade to executive level...gets you a slightly bigger room, 3 free evening drinks and free breakfast. Get a room facing the fort if possible for a better view.

The hotel is located in the old part of town and has been there for many years. It has kept up with modernisations but is old style, warm and welcoming. The hotel is not that large but has 5 separate eating restaurants and an executive lounge. When we arrived our room was not ready but without too much effort we were upgraded to a spacious suite and open access to the executive lounge. Smooth management and experienced staff added to the good feel. Many modern concrete and glass hotels have smart sterile feel but the Arabian Courtyard is comfortable and well run with customers coming first.

The suite was large and well equipped with a small kitchen area, lounge and large bedroom. The bathroom was good but not exceptional. The staff in the exceutive lounge work hard and the afternoon tea and cakes was welcome after a day of touring Dubai sites.

The nearby Mosque will give you an early morning call so the alarm clock is redundant!

Room Tip: Get an upgrade to suite

Had two nights here on the way to Australia. Excellent, attentive service from the staff. Restaurant is a little chaotic - our first morning it was crammed with a tour party and a bit of a scrum but with plenty of food , quickly replaced by the staff: second mornig it was fine. We had room service on the first evening after our flight. Our experience on the second evening was poor to say the least. There was yet another tour party in the restaurant and we were offered the buffet, which we refused as some 60+ Swiss or German ladies and gentlemen had significantly reduced it, and asked for the menu. The maitre'd said that was certainly possible. What followed was an absolute disaster: food ordered that did not arrive, wrong dishes brought and discussions about what we had ordered, and were we sure. The couple next to us were so upset by the performance that they retired, with the woman of the couple in tears. My wife and , simply, soldiered on. Eventually, after much coming and going, we managed to get what we ordered - it managed to be not only over-cooked but also cold which is often the sign of a kitchen that wishes you had not bothered them.

The Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa, {www arabiancourtyard.com/};[Al Fahidi Street, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Reservations were very easily done on line at info@arabiancourtyard.net. We chose the concierge floor for the very reasonable price of 596 AED ($162). For clarification, on our trip the ‘official’ Exchange Rate was 3.97 Dirham (DHS or AED -- written both ways) = 1 American dollar. To make it easier to convert I simply divided any purchase by 4 Dirham.
The concierge floor included free WiFi, breakfast, free non alcoholic beverages throughout the day and evening happy hour with extensive hors’ d’oeuvre and free alcoholic beverages. Staff is fluent in English and extremely helpful. There was an adequate exercise room and a swimming pool & hot tub, although showing signs of wear and tear, on the upper floor. If you do not feel like going out to eat there is a nice selection of restaurants in the hotel.
The location of this hotel is superb, directly across from the Dubai museum and the Grand Mosque. The Dubai Creek was 1 block directly in front of the hotel. Across the Dubai Creek is the other historic area known as Diera. The Creek is filled with darling little boats called Dhow (a type of Arabian vessel) and slightly bigger water taxi called Abra that take (mostly) tourist up and down or across the Creek.

Room Tip: For the price the concierge level is a good bargain.

I spent Easter weekend with my family in Dubai at the hotel, the executive floors have excellent service including exclusive dining room which is very convenient for a leisurely breakfast, having a museum in front of the hotel was a plus for me, the staff are very attentive to the needs of guests and the spa is very nice.

We spent 3 comfortable nights at this hotel. Arriving late we were whisked from the airport and quickly into our room however over the next couple of days I noted that there were bus loads of passengers either from group tours or from passenger ships filling the foyer for an overly long time trying to check in which was frustrating for guests trying to enter or leave the hotel. Other than this small problem the hotel was perfectly located for visiting the local attractions including the Dubai Museum, the Silk Souk, the Creek and transport options for crossing the Creek to the Gold and Spice Souks. If you are wishing to be near the beach or shopping precincts these are accessible by taxi or the hotel shuttle bus. The breakfast and Happy Hours we enjoyed in the Executive lounge were a nice touch. Our room had all the amenities you would expect from this class of hotel and the staff were courteous and helpful. The only issue that I had a problem with is that this hotel still permits smoking in the majority of the hotel with a couple of non smoking floors however being on a high floor you could smell cigarette smoke as this was allowed to drift up through the open Atruim. I went for a beer in the hotel "pub" but left quickly as the place was full of smokers and this was my choice because it is the hotel policy to allow smoking. In the surrounding streets one feels like you are in and Indian city at night with the proliferation of local Indian food that can be found, yummy.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to the executive floor if available as this included breakfast and evening happy...
