Although it was hot summer, it was worth making the journey to this resort. Stayed for 1 night with friends. Felt like entering a kingdom, when you stepped into this traditional Arabic fort. The staffs are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had dinner at the famous Al Hadheerah restaurant. It was indeed excellent with a wide variety of food, great entertainment of songs, belly dance, traditional dance and a live theatre of camel and horse riding. I am captivated by the courtyards, the interior of the resort and the walkways. It is an unique experience which you should not miss, when in Dubai.

stayed for 2 nights in 2 rooms, stunning place, 4 pools,sadly the large pool was closed on 2nd day due to works but other pools were great so no real loss though would've been if there for more than 2 days,though hotel were offering free shuttle to another hotel to use their facilities if wanted, so quiet this time of year,we had pool to ourselves most of the time, staff very friendly, breakfast good, indian food from masala very good and other food good, little touches like ice cold flannels,ice pops and fruit kebabs being brought around randomly during the day made it that extra special. complimentary camel rides great touch, beautiful place less than an hour from airport,we stayed in city,on the beach then here-great way to do Dubai!

Stayed one night with family. Enjoyed the drive to the resort, in the middle of no where. The welcome at the reception was luke warm. The room allotted was far from the pool, even though it was off season. The support staff were good and very helpful. The resort has good ambiance. Our package included dinner buffet at the Hadeerah restaurant. The food was excellent. It was a very humid evening and hence could not stay long at the restaurant and had to miss many activities. Breakfast next day was good. Overall, a pleasant stay.

We spend 2 nights,14-16 August and the room was exceptional with a view on the desert,very well decorated,it was beyond expectations;
We went for our 10 years,the only downside was although we had specified that we came for it no special attention for this...service was ok but not exceptional comparing to other 5 stars; the pool are terrific!

We stayed here from August 13th-16th 2013 with our 5 month old baby hoping to get a nice break and complete relaxation. The hotel did not disappoint. The drive from the airport took about 40 minutes and cost 180AED (we took the minivan, the sedans would cost around 160AED). Upon arrival we were greeted well by the Night Manager Mr. Shaayban and his assistant Mr. Sayed who gave us a quick check in and offered us a choice of rooms (we booked the Deluxe King room), he showed us a room directly in front of pool and one with dessert view. We preferred to be next to the pool. The deluxe rooms are ground floor while superiors are usually on second floor. The room we had 123 was single story, corner room and thus it had extremely high ceilings and the biggest bed I have ever experienced in any hotel...it was 9ft wide! The patio was big and kind of private (people can see us while in the patio from certain angles), it had a four seat table and its outside lighting that we controlled.

The hotel has 3 pools, one with a swim up bar (this pool is kept cold), one with an infinity edge style with shaded areas and in pool Jacuzzi style seats (this pool is kept warm) and the last pool is for children. Plenty of loungers all over and since that is the only daily routine for all the guests the loungers can be full if the hotel is full. During our stay the occupancy was way under 40%. Weekends are when the hotel gets booked as all the local expats like to spend a night or two there. They service at the pool was exceptional, the staff remembered us and what we usually order and also bring cold towels regularly and on occasion some fresh fruit (complimentary)

We never tried their buffet as we had our breakfast in our room every day, the breakfast was exceptional and I have read a lot of people saying their prices are high but you have to note that their menu prices includes all taxes and service so you don’t have to calculate nor be shocked when you get the bill and with that in mind they are almost the same as any other 5 star hotel in Dubai.

We tried their Italian restaurant and we recommend their pizzas, you cant go wrong and they included a drink (beer/soft drink/juice) and salad with the pizza. The roof top lounge was also a nice experience although their appetizers where expensive and the same pizza you get at their Italian restaurant that is next door to the lounge is priced 20% more which we couldn't understand why.

We didn't opt for the Arabian style restaurant dinner as we thought that it was overpriced given we reside in the middle east such a price could never be justified and would place some pretty high expectations for us. I am sure if it was your first time in the Middle East then it would be justifiable other than that...

We took a taxi into the city, ask the hotel to book a regular taxi an hour or so before hand, the trip would cost you around 140AED each way (less than airport as airport taxis start fares at 25AED while any other location 3AED during day and 3.5AED during night). It is also possible to book a regular cab for 6hours for 500AED which is a better deal if your stay this far and the cab is at your disposable anytime and anywhere.

There are complimentary camel rides and a falcon show daily between 5:30pm-7pm. The spa offers complimentary use of their sauna and steam for guests with prior reservation as they close of that section which is a nice touch giving privacy. We did not try any of their treatments.

During check out the system was down and thus we couldn't settle our bill however management was very attentive and provided all the hard copies of our charges for review. We settled our bill via emails and must admit the professionalism of both Mr. Mohab and Mr. Shady in sending the invoices and waiting for confirmation before any charges was made, then providing the receipts.

In regards to their upgrade offer...we were offered an upgrade to a junior suite on our last night but we opted not to as we got used to our room. However i believe that management should remove that offer from their room booking as this raises expectations and when you find the hotel empty and yet don’t receive an upgrade causes guests to be disappointed. People don't see the back office work of a hotel, how many rooms booked, number of no shows etc they only see if the pool is full or empty so to us the hotel was empty when in reality all the junior suites were booked those two nights. It is better for the hotel to surprise their guests rather than lure them in with the possibility.

In conclusion; if you are looking to be away from city life, plan on just laying by the pool all day and drinking at night, be lazy and sleep in with in-room breakfast (served all day). Then this is the hotel for you.

Room Tip: Deluxe King, Pool View. Highly Recommend Room 123

My wife and I went to this resort for a weekend getaway and was extremely happy with the experience. The pool was amazing and the added touch of bringing out freezies was a nice bonus in the hot sun. Both restaurants were quite good but the service from Osman at Al Forsan was exceptional as my wife had a peanut allergy and he was very accommodating. He also made us chicken tacos even though they were only serving beef tacos.

The only disappointing part of the trip was that we found a bug in our room.

Overall I would recommend this resort for people trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We are thinking of going back in December when our family visits from Canada.
