“Awesome room at good price”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

My wife and I stayed here for 1week, we got a free upgrade to the large suite which was huge. Location is very good, across from a small mall called Lamcy Plaza which was quite useful to catch taxis from. A very nice smoothie shop next door which was opened till late. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and toiletries, no problems at all with service. Didn't try the breakfast. Would recommend and stay here again. Thanks Al Faris.

First, I must say the staff was very helpful to accommodate our very early check-in. The overall impression of the apartment looks good at a first glance BUT as soon as you start to use the apartment you realise the poor quality of everything. The drawers and cupboard doors are broken, the place is dirty, the toilet is leaking dirty water on the floor, there is only one glass, etc. There is no towel service. Although we were two people they only give one towel and worst of all, one of our towels were literally falling apart (IT RATHER LOOKED LIKE A RUG). There were also no towels available at the pool area. Our apartment had such a small window it felt like night (or a cave) throughout the day. The hotel is located on a bus route that connects with the sky train. So although the location is a bit away from tourist areas you are relatively well connected. Taxis are also readily available at Lamcey shopping centre across the road. There is a well appointed convenience store and a few restaurants in the area. It also opposite Lamcey shopping centre (not very big, but worth a quick visit). We can highly reccommend the breakfast because it is very good value for money.

Stayed here on 3 January 2013 because, according to Trip Advisor, it is in the Dubai Marina area. Actually, it is located in the Al Karama neighborhood behind the Lamsee (sp?) Plaza, which isn't much compared to other places.

Dubai has too many other options with a much better location and amenities that you'd be wasting your money here. The staff was helpful in providing an upgrade after we asked to cancel our reservation because of uncleanliness (mold in one of our rooms and stains on the couch) and a mistake in location on the reservation. We were upgraded to one bedroom suites that were nice, but still lacking in cleanliness and upkeep on minor things (my shower is being fixed as I type this).

Bottom line, if comparable (in price) rooms are available closer to the metro line and main attractions, take those over these- even if you have to spend an extra $50 or so. You'll save that money by avoiding the taxi rides from here to where everything is at. But, if this is the last place available, it's ok. The bed seemed clean and I slept well in it. Taxi service was nearby as well.

Room Tip: If you're here during the work week (Sunday-Thursday), the commuters can be heard early in the m...

Well, not a lot has changed since my last stay at the Al Faris 3. A few new faces have appeared over the past year, & as always staff extremely pleasant & helpful.
The place could still do with a face lift though.
Have read on another travel site that the Al Faris has a grocery store (think it was 'travelrepublic'), it has never had a grocery store, & still hasn't.
It has now done away with the internet cafe, which was handy if you can't be bothered taking laptop on hols with you, although many use i-phones etc now.
Hotel has wi-fi though, & there is an internet cafe 2-3 mins stroll away, so no majoe problem.
Swimming pool / terrace was closed off on 07 January (2013) for maintenance. This was only announced by signs stuck to the glass panel access doors, & no re-open date given.
Don't know if just pool cleaning, or a major overhaul.
Still, i will be going back.

Room Tip: If more than a solo traveller, & depending how long you spend in your room, go for the one bedro...

I went to Al Faris Hotel Apartment 3 on October 2012....and let me say something about this place that was NOT amazing at all.
The customer service was POOR! No service at all ! A very few employees were working. The strict-minimum as hotel staff although I went during the high season they did not have enough employees. Also, the room staff would let only ONE towel even tough we were two in the room, the toilet paper VERY CHEAP SERVICE....we were lacking toilet paper! Imagine for the price I paid!!!! :O + if you would ask they would be like : "ummm I get a limit per day"...Unbelievable!
The hotel was not well located! Although there were some beauty salon, some small cafeteria it was very badly located....I was stuck in the traffic every day/night when I was going out. (Imagine what I had to pay for the Taxi)
The room was OK, not bad!
Washing machine was washing the clothes for 5 hours and it was NORMAL for the HOTEL STAFF! Unbelievable ! They also had one dryer per level in the hall!
The toilet was old school, very bad !
Also, the hotel staff did not had any control and did not do their job properly...there was a family that had a few girls and boys and were renting a few rooms on the same floor as I did. Those kids were playing in the hall from 2h AM to 6h AM and although I was calling the receptionist because I couldn't sleep they did not got any hold of the situation! In other words, poor customer service, poor leadership! + Check-in is at 2h PM (Do not forgot...they did not leave me to go in my room before 2h PM) I had to wait for a few hours!

Overall, I DO NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE ! Besides big family that wants to be a part of Dubai's wild life !

Advantage: There is still a positive side of this hotel...their facilities : *ONLY* for the swimming pool and the spa attached to the area + the design very well done + there was also a sauna available.
The gym was horrible; old school equipment and most of the time it wasn't even working!

Good family hotel with easy access to shopping centers, good food and supermarkets. All within a 100 yd walk. Lamcy plaza has reasonably well shopping .Food forward has very good deals on fried chicken and on the back side of the hotel you will find an array of cafes , burger joints ,shawrma places, late hour grocery stores.
The rooms were nicely done. The bathrooms were okay, the kitchen required some extra cleaning.
However, the staff was very cooperative be it the front desk or the cleaners. I had some issues with the baby stroller which required to be fixed, their maintenance guy took care of it at no extra charge. Yes, there is a constant smell of food being cooked in the corridors before you enter the room. But once inside , you get the amenities being offered by 5 star on 3 star cost. The value for money here is simply amazing.

Great apartments in a great location. Spinneys is right beside the hotel, Lamcy plaza facing it and lot of shops around. Not far from all the malls except Mall of Emirates and Ebn Battouta. Spacious rooms and very comfortable with all facilities. Staff are amazing. I always use this hotel and will surely use it again.
