A business lunch with an old friend was complimented by the food and service in this restaurant. The dough is made on the premises...this is obvious as it smelled and tasted homemade, crusty outside, soft and chewy inside. The weather was just cooling down enough to eat outside and the mint lemonade was perfect! Bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar certainly amused my bouche...my friend hardly having a chance to get any. The pizza, a selection of toppings including Bresaola and rocket, was as good as any I have ever had. You could taste the smoky wood fire in the crust and appreciate the quality of the ingredients used in making the dough. These people really take care.
Gelato to follow was a must. I had a coffee vanilla and could, again, taste the quality and love that is put into it. A rare treat!
Service was excellent despite the very busy lunch period.
The only problem this restaurant has is the location. You have to cross the road from the Dubai Mall and peer behind the foot bridge pillars to see the name. This would have been a great location had it not been for the Metro footbridge. Word of mouth seems to be paying off though!
I would recommend this to anyone visiting or living in Dubai if you haven't already tried it...it will become a regular. This is 4.5 stars for me, the only issue being the location (which is hardly the restaurant's fault) but if it was placed on a quieter street, this place would be THE place to eat and be seen.
