“Beautiful traditional section of old Dubai”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

The old section of Bur Dubai settled by Persians back in the day. Lovely shaded lanes and now a mixture of art galleries and cafes. Great for a stroll.

“A simulation to Old Traditional Dubai”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

This place is a simulation to Old Traditional Dubai from how they lived and the design of houses and there handcrafts. unfortunately we didn't stay for too long as most of the shops were closing and we were the only people walking there which made us don't enjoy it that much and it was a waste of time for the whole group.

I would advice don't go to this place during holidays and national vacations as we did because you will find it almost closed.

“Intersting”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

Not too much to see. What is there is interesting but not worth a special trip. Combine with a visit to the gold souk in Deira and abra trip for much more interest.
Go in evening when it is cooler and then you can see the creek as the lights come on.

“Not much too it”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

Not much to the Bastakia Quarter other than the market. It is worth a stroll around if you are in the area, but not worth going out of your way to visit.

“If you like ghost towns....”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

I'd read several reviews taking a dig at this place but decided to go anyway and make my own judgement call. Well, let's just say I was severely underwhelmed. There was absolutely zero authenticity (loved the air-cons jutting out of the walls and the random graffiti art wall) and there was no one there to give you a rundown of the history, other than a few vague signs. In a way I'm glad I checked it out for myself, but after spending 45 minutes wondering around aimlessly, I've come to realise it was a complete waste of time. My advice? Maybe check out the museum nearby, but avoid setting foot in the baron confines of Bastakia Quarter if you can.
