We booked afternoon tea well in advance ( from UK) and where not disappointed!
Firstly, afternoon tea is by booking only as it is so popular, and there are sseveral sittings, which are generally fully booked.
We moved to the Burj Al Arab hotel from the One and Only on the Palm on the Thursday around lunch time. We had prior booked afternoon tea for 1330hrs, but once we were resident in the Burj, were able to move our reservation to 1600hrs.
The whole experience is superb!
The food , service, views , is awesome! You are allowed one free glass of champers with your tea, anymore will cost you £30 a glass!. Don't worry though, as alcohol is not necessary. There are plenty of different non alcoholic beverages including teas, coffees, juices etc etc .
We had our afternoon tea first, and then ventured out into Dubai for drinks before returning to the Skyview bar later in the evening for some famous ( alcoholic) cocktails!!
Cost for te around £200 for two persons. Well worth it in our estimation!!

We had afternoon tea in the sky lounge at the Burj Al Arab which was fabulous! The whole experience was wonderful, the service, food and surroundings. I am not sure about 7 stars but maybe that comes with staying at the hotel and experiencing it as a whole. The service is extremely good though and just something worth experiencing. Afterwards we asked to go to Madinat Jumeriah and were transferred on a golf buggy via the beach, the views we gained of the hotel by doing this were fantastic. An overall wonderful experience.

Unbelievable architecture. At night the front of the building changes color at night. Go up to have a cocktail in the Sky View bar.

My husband and I went to Dubai as part of our honeymoon. We were staying between Christmas and new year and so booked into the Burj al Arab for afternoon tea in the Skyview bar. We booked to arrive at 16.00 and ended up staying until after sunset. The views were amazing, we had a window seat overlooking the city. The service was excellent, the waitress serving us was friendly and very helpful without being pushy at all. The food was delicious, we had so many different courses, including sandwiches, cakes, scones, roast meat, and chocolates, as well as a glass of champagne and the largest choice of teas I have ever seen.

Although the afternoon tea was expensive, at about £70 per person, we thought that it was well worth it for the experience, we were in the restaurant for at least 3 hours and saw a beautiful sunset with great views over the city and out to sea. Well worth the money!

Take the time and spend the money to have Afternoon Tea at the Skyview Bar. Not only is it a way to get inside to actually see the Al Arab's interior, you also get a great view at the top and get treated like royalty as they serve you 6 or 7 courses.. they even gave my wife a rose after we informed them of our anniversary being the occasion.
Highly recommended for all Dubai visitors.
