I have eaten at this restaurant a couple of times since its opened. The restaurant has progressively improved. I have not tried the "Cooking School" concept but I hope to try it soon. I did try the "Movie Nights" and the really is a great idea. It is like an extension of your living room with 5 star service. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The food is really good - on par with similar restaurants in the city. The service is excellent, typically Jumeirah. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

I diid a cookery lesson at The Blue Flame restaurant last night. It was fantastic! The staff are so warm and welcoming. You are greeted with a glass of FRENCH champagne. The Experience is 300 aed and is sooo worth it. I'm not a cook, so was a little dubious to begin with, but I had nothing to worry about. You are guided through every step to make the whole execution idiot proof!

The chef gives demonstrations and tips on how to cook. You get to sample the homemade muffins which are wonderful! They have a set menu calender - which we didn't like what was on the menu that day - so they just asked us what we'd like to cook and changed it!

This is such a bargain. A glass of champagne would set you back 120aed - so for 300 aed you get a fantastic lesson, a fantastic meal, a glass of champagne and a great night out.(It has to be said that me and my friend also drank a bottle of wine each - but that's only because we enjoyed it so much!!!)

After staying in hotels on my own on business - this would be a really good way to cut the boredem on a business stay. Instead of ordering room service alone, or dining alone - why not book yourself into a cookery class?!!!
I will definately be going back for another lesson.

Ate here with friends in January 2013 and had an enjoyable dinner. The staff were very attentive and we were personally looked after by a waiter from South Africa who knew everything there was to know about red meat!! Sat in front of the circular glass enclosure where two guests were cooking their dinner under the watchful supervision of a chef - lovely novelty. At the end of the meal instead of after-dinner mints we were presented with blue candy floss (cotton candy)!! Seriously tasty and the chef even gave us to-go bags of the blue fluff!!

Concept: I received a gift voucher for a cooking class at the Blue Flame restaurant in the new Jumeirah Creekside hotel (normal price AED300) and it was a fantastic night out and great value. In addition to the lesson and food, you get an apron, a generous glass of French champagne and a meat measuring utensil.

Lesson: The cooking stations are perfectly equipped, the chef (Dannat) was extremely informative and helpful and ultimately I learnt a lot. It's fun getting to prepare and eat your own gourmet food and our main course of brick chicken with polenta and baby carrots was delicious.

Restaurant The atmosphere is a bit "hotel" but I'd recommend the outside verandah for a more intimate space. Desserts (which cost extra), though visually and technically accomplished, were unfortunately a bit disappointing in flavour due to issues like overcooked apple, damp pastry and bland jellies (we ordered the tarte tatin and East meets West crème brulée) and would maybe have benefitted from being simplified? Menu items are priced at a premium but ingredients and technique appear to be of a high standard.

Service: Mostly friendly, standard Dubai service but special mention must be made of Teresa, whose service was absolutely incredible, I felt so welcome and well-looked after that I can't wait to come back for more cooking classes and to try some new and hopefully improved desserts. Honestly, the best maître d' I've met in Dubai.
