We arrived on our flight from Cape Town, and with the time being about 3 am in the morning SA time, didn't really feel that Burger King was the answer. So - we see the pinkberry sign and being uninformed (not uniformed) saffers we head there to see what it is. we see the cheerful ex-pat ladies handing out samples, we taste and are hooked. we see an empty table with 4 chairs and run towards it, as if in slow motion, claiming the table for South Africa amongst the hordes of other nationalities milling around. We plant the flag in the middle of the table, and set down our hand-luggage like a laager around it, ensuring no invading force can claim it. settling down with our free sample, we relax and enjoy tasting the flavours we are about to have for breakfast. My daughter and I go to the counter - "Herro" says a friendly voice. we choose, they dispense the choice, we cautiously take our bounty back to the table and savour a quiet moment amongst the storm of unhappy-looking traveling people. All too soon the bowl is finished, we stand up on DVT-threatened legs, remove the SA flag from the table and work our way through the crowds to the boarding gate, with the taste of frozen yoghurt lingering happily on our lips. Pinkberry - a real oasis in the airport desert.
