“Great experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

We did not intend to visit Prime but things at the Imax did not pan out so we ended up there. I was not at all dressed for dinner but the the staff were very accommodating and we were duly seated, shorts and all. The restaurant has a really nice, plush feel about it and from the moment you enter you expect things to be of a superior quality and they do not disappoint! The amuse bouche was a pleasant surprise and was really tasty. My starter, duck liver, was delicious. Extremely rich and very well accompanied by some brioche, apricot jam, sweet onions and other goodies. The steaks were of great quality and perfectly cooked. The steak Diane and poivre were flambe'd at the table which is always a nice experience. They were really good! The sides of truffle mash and roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes were great. The wine list is exhaustive and there really is something for everyone. From the greeting through the entire meal the staff were great. Always there when they were needed but not at all intrusive. The chairs at the window overlooking the racetrack are really nice. They have really high backs (about 1.8m) so once you and your wife are seated you are secluded from the rest of rhe room. Very private and intimate.
We really enjoyed everything about Prime and would gladly reccommend it.

“Premium steakhouse in a sumptuous environment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

The prime steakhouse is a fantastic location for a quiet dinner. Wether you want a private intimate dinner or a business dinner, it will fulfill your expectations and leave your guests impressed. Is certainly an upclass place, so approppriate attire is highly recommended. The views over the race course are impressive. The service is great and the meat cuts superb. Great wine list also, some of them affordable, some of them for the pocket of sheikhs. Nevertheless you can choose wine from all over the world. The menu is not extremely long (normally a good sign) and has variety enough as to satisfy any kind of taste, including vegetarian.
Normally is very quiet with just a few tables occupied (not applicable to race week) and will provide a really intimate experience with soft good music in the background.
Furniture is really heavy and looks more from a palace than for a restaurant, but I consider this part of the experience and the Middle East taste for luxury. I don't think you can be disappointed if you go there.

“Sumptuous, elegant a regal joy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Prime Steak restaurant. It's sumptuous chairs greet you, it's lavish decor makes you feel like royalty. The regal steak was preceded by unusually high quality bread, the duck pâté was stunning, the choice of wine was to be admired, oh the steak......it could have been cut with a spoon, my medium rare filet was cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive, not over bearing, they were knowledgable and anticipated your every need. Simply a must, but expensive....but what the hell you are worth it.

“For steaks it's fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

Dined here numerous times and every time the food is simply exquisite the service is very good although can be bit miserable at times had few managers changed recently which is not ideal, but restaurant is either full or empty does not do in between so makes it difficult for the staff, but its worth the visit for the stunning surroundings and furnishings and the FOOD.....
This is a proper steakhouse serving extreme quality cuts.

“Great steaks in an opulent atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2012

Prime is a great place for well prepared steak in a beautifully designed. While very good, the experience falls short of being outstanding on a number of key points.

The furniture comes straight from either a Palace or from the fairy tale 'Alice in Wonderland'! It is big, unwieldy and while it looks quite plush not entirely comfortable. The large (mammoth) chairs by the window tables prevent you from seeing the dining room or from being seen. This will be a plus for some, but if you are someone who likes watching things unfold around you then get a table away from the windows. These are great seats during the races, but when the track is dark you are essentially looking at the Dubai skyline which seems very far away. The table chairs and tables are not sized correctly. They were likely bought separately and no one sat at the table in a chair because if they did they would have noted that the table is too high for the chair so you end up feeling like you are back in kindie with the huge chair and the table too high to sit at comfortably.

While the chairs in the center of the room fit the table, they are also unwieldy and hard to push in and out. They are also soft and it the staff need to be trained to offer pllows as some will be seated to far back in the chair to reach their food! Also, protect your knees when you sit down as the table legs are in the center so I cracked ny knees on the table legs and it was hard to get comfortable with the table legs in the way of my legs.

The room is really quite something and no expense was spared in the materials and fabrics used. This holds true for the table top china, silver and glass which is top shelf. The gueridon's, steak knives which they offer a choice of color are all excellent.

The steaks themselves were perfect, seared on the outside and cooked to perfection. Great choice of great cuts from important meat producing regions. Accompaniments were also well done whether it was sauce or sides.

Alas, Prime falls into the same trap as many very good Dubai restaurants as the service does not match the food, design or atmosphere. Not terrible exactly, but pedestrian and not in keeping with a 'signature' restaurant. Server was not knowledgable about the cuts of meat, had to be corrected when taking our order and generally was not really tip top. He brought us a wine list for one of their other restaurants and when queried as to why we were not getting the Prime wine list replied that many of thise wines were out of stock. The bread basket was stale and no one explained the selection of butters put before us until asked. The amuse bouche was described as 'tempura', but really tasted like a deep fried prawn finger.

So go for the beautiful room and great steaks, but watch out for your knees, a hernia in moving the chairs and the service which could do with a bit more finesse. If you like to eat in a restaurant that is full and lively, this is not the place for you unless it is a race night.
