We are quite passionate about Thai food and have a favorite restaurant in Dubai, where we eat at least few times a month, but we went to The Royal Budha since a good friend of us highly recommended this restaurant (and plus, being in a hotel, serves alcohol!).
The setting is nice, maybe a bit too dark, but overall atmosphere is nice. Menu is varied, lots of dishes to choose from. I was surprised not to see some basic dishes from the Thai cuisine, but when we asked, the chef was more than happy to cook those for us.
We ordered several dishes from the menu, since we wanted to share. The spicy green papaya salad was delicious, I could’ve done with having it all to myself! Roasted duck was very tasty, and squid salad was a pleasant surprise.
From the main dishes we had the Thai prawn green chili and the Thai traditional northern style beef, which were also very tasty.
Service was very good, we didn’t wait too long for the order (and the restaurant was full). It is not exactly a budget restaurant, but it’s not too expensive either.
I liked the food, but I still remain to my favorite :)
