Jump on one of the boats to cross the creek with some of the locals. be careful as they do like to cram the boats to capacity. and make sure you have your money ready as they take payment enroute. i would avoid doing this in the midday heat

Walk along the Creek starting at the Sheraton Creek Hotel. The "Dhow Wharfage" is quite fascinating. Watch the Dhows being loaded with merchandise before they set off to their destination.

After the granduer of Shaikh Zayed road and the rest of gleaming Dubai, I wanted to see what the old Dubai looked like....

Well, it's beautiful in its own way.... With beautiful views of hand made "dhows", and a glimpse of the trade scene, Dubai Creek is a peek into ancient middle eastern culture.

A ride on the traditional motorboat is a must (AED 1)

The creek is one of those places which would make for a wonderful walk with old friends on a cool evening...

For a feel of Traditional markets, and inexpensive souvenirs.... drop by the creek..

On the metro, take the Green line and the last stop is the creek.

Note for photographers:

Sunset and blue hour are really beautiful here.... Get ur tripods for those long exposures of boats on water and some really nice scenes at dusk.

This area is frequented by locals so here is one of the few chances to see how real life goes on (apart from the markets you find everywhere) in this town. Interesting

For a nice tourist experience check out the creek area of Dubai. The Spice and Gold Souks are well worth a visit. To add to the experience take the 1 dirham water taxi that goes between Deira and Bur Dubai.
