This is the one of the best ways to spend your mornings in Dubai. The tickets for the round trip journey for the water taxi is around 3 dirhams and takes about 1hour for the jorney. It fairly covers most of the places of Dubai and does it in a relaxed way.

Both sides of the creek are interesting. They are connected by small boats that take you to the other side for a small fee. This is the old Dubai and authentic Dubai. It was strange to see that there weren't many tourists here. If you stay in Dubai you need to see this. We went to see this part of town at sunset and it was perfect. We visited the stamp shop and did some interesting buys. We walked through the gold souk on the other side and were impressed.

Bustling, busy, and a glimpse of what this stunning city started from just a few decades ago. Try the water taxis if you need to get across.

Great place to explore the old Dubai, Dubai Creek is between Deira and Bur Dubai. You can take a nice Dhow Cruise during the day or optional with Dinner at night. The local take a water taxi across the creek, only 1 Dirham. You should try this experience, interesting boat ride on the busy Dubai creek. In Deira site you can go to Gold Souk/ Spice Souk the Old Dubai. Recommended!!

Wear a hat or have a parasol ladies. Also, I recommend covering up any bare skin if you can if you visit the old part or cross the creek on one of the little boats, as a mark of respect for the locals and for your own comfort. We were stared at a lot and I did feel very uncomfortable. A good lesson learnt.
