We went on a saturday afternoon, after going to Deira textile souk. It was very busy, being the weekend. First we had lunch at Malik's, fast food place, and had to wait 40 mins for our order to be prepared. The staff made up the orders that were small ie. for 1or 2 people and served them quickly, and left the larger orders to the side. Our order was for 5 people. So disorganized. We complained, and then finally served, even then with wrong food. Then we went to the toilets which were disgusting, really poor facilities. Moving on towards the beach, it was packed. We walked round and left 1 hr later. Many families had brought food with them to have bbq, and picnics.

Stayed at the Jumeriah Beach Hotel, where there are more than 20 different restaurants, cafes, bars. All 5 star quality and top service. Not cheap but not a single complaint. tried 4-5 different places there, cheeseburgers are amazing just outside lobby area, but Pierchic just off Al Qasr & Madinat with french food, primarily seafood was outstanding. Beautiful location on the end of a pier where you feel like you are in the middle of the ocean.

Well worth a vist if like myself and family you were not in a resort hotel.

We visited twice Sunday and Tuesday. Busy on a Sunday but on Tuesday it was rather quiet. If you were ok to walk for 5 minutes along the beach you could pretty much have your own oiece of private beach, which is whatbwe did!

Note changinging rooms (4) are along the beach front, as are refreshment and fast food kiosks. Signage in arrival is poor. On arrival, just head for the beach and then find a changing room. Don't use the first set of toilets you see on arrival Not a great experience - the proper changing rooms are on the beach. They are realtively clean and are by farcthe best place to change.

This is a much better beach than Mamzar which i would only use a s last resort - ladies day on Jumeira Beach which is on Mondays.

We visited the Private Jumeira Beach Park, here you pay (?) to enter. You pay for the umbrella and beach seat again if you want one, but you can grab anyone empty before it is pulled down by the vendors. The beach is very serene and lovely, lots of people from several hotels, some hotels operate free shuttle services to the beach. i would have loved to visit the Jumeira public beach just across the fenced wall also to conclude my rating but i did not. It's a lovely place to dip and deep!!!

My friend and I went recently to Jumeirah Beach, that was fine, but we don't live in Dubai, we are and hour & half away and planing to stay in Dubai for the day, so we had to change at the beaches' public bathroom facility.....possibly the worst I have had to use apart from in third world countries. There was water about 1cm deep all over the floor, including sand. There was no toilet paper, there was no hooks to hang clothing, no where to put clean clothes, open bins for feminine waste (the smell was somethig else), it was an absolute disappointment!! I have since written to the Dubai Municipality to inform them of the same. If you go, go prepared!
