“An Emirates stopover night from hell”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2011

We got bumped to this hotel overnight as the Copthorne was full. Arrived 1am, and put on the first floor. I complained about the loud music thumping in my room from the night club, and told it would end at 3am and no other rooms were available. The base was very intense and hard core party. I used ear-plugs but these were rather useless.I complained to the manager who promised it would end at 3am. I went down to the manager at 3.30am who said it would be immediately stopped. At 4am it did stop. I had to be up at 6:30am for my next 14 hour long haul flight. I wish i had stayed at the airport. The room itself was fairly run-down and smelt damp and musty.

Room Tip: As high as possible

This is one of my favourite hotels, cheap and friendly but I am going to stop staying here as the music is too loud. From 11pm till well after 3am we are kept awake with music from the Bollywood club. Repeated complaints to front desk did not help.
Avoid at all costs.

I have stayed there for 2 days during my Dubai visit for business meetings, I found the hotel to be good with services, value for money and ambiance, the only draw back was its distance from city centre / tube networks.

A well-located good 4 star hotel with clean environment and decent service. The only minus was loud music on the terrace which was subdued after constant complaints to the manager. They however charge for the internet in the room and no Wi-Fi facility.

A good and inexpensive Chinese restaurant Chin Chin is just across the road.

The website states that the Capitol is a 4 star deluxe hotel. I would rank this hotel between 1 and 2 stars. The breakfast is poor and not worth getting out of bed for. Rooms on the lower floors are noisy due to the nightclubs at the rear and sides of the hotel. Loud thumping music goes on until 3 am. The hotel faces a busy road and sound insulation is not good. The girls on reception are not particularly friendly, unapologetic and indifferent to reports of sleepless nights. The rooms appear jaded as does the rest of the hotel. Cigarette smells are present even in the non smoking rooms.

This Hotel is located far from downtown but in a good area of Barr dubai and also near to jumarah beach and some to extent near to wild wadi and arab tower.
Also this hotel has two night club one arabian and another one from south america which are good but the prices are so high especially for those man interested to have a business lady in their room. It must be mentioned that despite the regulations, it is allowed to bring lady in your room at night, indentification card or vissa is necessary to have.
The quality of breakfast is also good but it is not possible to bring that in food by hotel personnel.
Totally this hotel is recommended to singles and married people which are interested in night clubs and disco and beach.

The other reviwer most certainly got it right. This is not a familly hotel. At the flick of a switch at night, this hotel felt literally the town's main bordello. The management regulary charges room's by the hour and the reception is a veritable feast of characters. Within minutes of being in the room. A knock on the door, turned out to be a thai prostitude dressed in black.
No doubt send in by the reception. I complained later on, but they looked at me, as if I was mad.

Little did I know this of course. I just wanted a cheap room and I got it. A very basic toilet and tv and that is it. Door locks are not secure. So don't dare to leave anything valuable inside. Walls are thin, so you can imagine what you hear. I checked after one night and found the Awal Hotel, about 5 minutes from this. It is slightly more expensive at about bd15 but it was much better and cleaner.

The only plus is the low price and the location if you liked being in the very heart of the old town and souk. At night the area is full of life and people.
Sadly good quality cheap hotels in this part of the world is nothing more than hangouts of illrepute. There are plenty of 5 star places but very few in the lower end.
