“Great start of any tour”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

If you have between half hour and an hour, this small museum will be a great introduction into Dubai. It looks even smaller than what it is, but it was highly informative, very clear in explaining lots of things, especially Dubai history (in a very interesting, non-boring way), with some great photos of Dubai today vs decades ago, plus some good illustrations and explanations of Dubai/Arab activities.
There was a fee, I think 3drhm or something similar.
A small but cute giftshop with nice souvenirs.
Highly recommended.

A super little museum, informative with good visual examples of life in Dubai? A stop on the Big Bus tour.

“Yes it is "Small" and "Dated"...BUT it's the Cliff Notes to Dubai History”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

I have visited this museum twice already, once on my own (2011) and once with family (2013). The first exhibit with the video/movie about how Dubai came to being over the years is great. The exhibits and information is concise and to the point. This is not a NYC/Rome massive museum. It takes 20 minutes to cover if rushing. That, however, is what makes it great for those "passing through" you get their history and culture in a concise manner. This may be a negative to some, but to others who are with a 2-3 day itinerary, it is a great deal. The place makes for great photos in the evening (as attached) with the ship and fort lighted up.

“Very small, can be better.. a lot better”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

The museum is very small and other than some jewelry and old furniture used in the UAE has nothing special to show. A lot of improvements can be done to showcase the heritage of the UAE

“Interesting!!”

Well dubai is not much known for historical places and ppl mostly restrict their visit to shopping malls however i will suggest visint dubai museum as it provided a an in depth view of dubai's history and arab culture. U must go for those who wanna see dubai not just from the aspect of a shopping city. Ticket is also very cheap and it sure does provide the value for ur money. Well air conditioned interior. We enjoyed every bit of it.
