“Compact but interesting”

For those that have been to York Viking centre, this is the same theme. The sights, sounds and smells of ancient Dubai through to modern day are fantastically enacted into this brilliant museum. I love museums, my partner however does not, this one he loved! All the information you need to know visually represented for him and enough information for me to geek out on! Just brilliant

“I recommend.”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

I recommend.

Very affordable price.

You will not find a space full of technology and innovation, as the city dwelt us, although it is a space that is full of useful information and well organized, does not bring anything new.

Despite the museum being located in the middle of the city, and the area is full of traffic, there are some paid parking near, which although crowded, can always find a place.

“Worth your time”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

It was a very hot day and we were discouraged with the open air exhibits. But, we found out there is underground air-conditioned exhibit detailing the history of Dubai. The exhibits are very interesting and informative. The exhibits are well done and they draw you in.

We had one full day in Dubai and we felt this was worth our time. And Cheap! Cost of $0.75 cents!

“experience the history n culture of dubai”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Dubai museum in one word - WOW. this definitely rates as one of the good museums anywhere. they have a good collection of exhibits (imagine having a wall built in olden times and a ship used in olden times as exhibits) The museum is built on an old fort and is in the old part of dubai but is really informative and interactive. My 8 year old also enjoyed it . It is basically a small area on the ground floor and then a very huge area in the basement of the fort. All the exhibits are labelled and informative. even if u r not a museum loving person , you will still be impressed by it. there is a small and expensive souvenier shop too and an audio visual room which shows you the history and growth of Dubai as a megapolis. if u r a history buff you can easily spend 2 to 3 hrs here. do visit once. The entrance fee is just 5 dirhams . They were kind enough to charge my camera battery too for 15 min just so i could take sum pics :)

“Good information great value”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

The Dubai museum is very informative although not very large. At 3 AED per person it's a bargain. The museum describes the history of the area dating back almost 4000 years and has a good collection of artifacts and dioramas. I would plan on an hour or maybe a bit more if you can tolerate the heat for the outdoor exhibits which most people flew through while we were there. Luckily the main exhibits under ground are air conditioned.

Small children will probably be bored before too long and my 12 year old started losing patience about 40 minutes into.
