Worth the visit even though its in a middle of a 1960's shopping area. The museum is well laid out and if you go there on the big bus ask the driver and you will save the 3Dm entry fee. Take a nice slow walk round.

I liked the museum very much, the history is explained very clearly on panels. There is air-conditioning inside and the information you find is sufficient, clear and not too overwhelming: it tells about the past, the booming years and the future but also about the culture and local vegetation and animals.

The entrance fee is only 3DRH, which is less than 1USD/EUR.

Certainly worth while!

We visited Dubai Musuem after just walking around, very cheap entrance fee, only 6dhs (approx £1.20) for 2 adults. The musuem itself was very interesting, showing all the history of Dubai and how it became what it is today. I think you could do several visits before you read everything that is in there. The gallery underground tells you from the early beginnings in video form, great. Good gift shop at the end too, with many varied gifts for a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit.

Our taxi tour guide took us here as part of his organised tour. Prior to his suggestion we didn't know much about it and hadn't planned to visit, however it was worth the visit and answered many questions we had about Dubai and its history. The underground gallery was excellent, the displays were really informative. Our children loved it too (6yo and 5yo) and were very excited by the whole experience. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to read the displays in full but I would suggest that you give yourself at least an hour to wander and read at a leisurely pace. Definitely put this museum on your Dubai itinerary.
