My Husband & I have stayed at this Hotel 3 times now & it just keeps getting better. Booked through Kuoni Holidays In a Club Room on a Dinner bed & breakfast basis & we found this great value for money. On arrival we were upgraded to a Gold Club Suite which was lovely as it was my husband's birthday , thanks to Jean Paul Slap Reservations Manager who is such a great guy & very helpful. Afternoon Tea & Pre Dinner drinks & Canapes were serve in the Gold Club which we enjoyed very much, Maximillian Ritter (Gold Club manger) & all his staff made us feel very welcome & were always very attentive. I have previously stayed at Madinat Jumeirah Resort in Dar Al Masyaf Summerhouses & also Al Qasr Hotel which are also very nice but think the Palace at One & Only is my favourite, it's so romantic & the staff make you feel very special. We hope to return in 2010 again & will definitely book this hotel again!!
You will not be disappointed staying here.

This was our 10th visit to Dubai and for the last 7 we have stayed at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, however our friends (who are also regular visitors to Dubai) recommended us to try The Palace. We wish we hadn't, the overall view we had was 6/10, compared to JBH of 8/10.
In no particular order, we felt the following; location near to lots of construction and even on the beach you could hear the work going on nearby.
Views out to sea, nowhere as good, you look out to The Palm which is very built up and construction work still going on there.
We stayed in the Gold club section which meant the rooms were better than standard, but still not as good as the Premium leisurre rooms at JBH. The hotel generally caters for an older clientele, although we enjoyed people watching, as there was all types there to be entertained by.
Food in Olives - forget it, bland/no atmosphere, went once and walked out half way through meal, service poor and buffet selection was basic. The Beach bar and grill was top class as was the other restaurants in The Residence and Arabian Court.
We had a half board package, but still chose to eat out, if you can try Cavalli Club at Fairmont and Gary Rhodes restaurant - worth the money, food and entertainment excellent.
Service on the beach was average, plus the usual annoying stuff, unless you stick your towels on the beds before brekkie you have little chance of getting somewhere to rest. The guys working there did nothing to stop it. Took ages sometimes to get service, but that is being ultra critical.
The team on the reception desk at the Gold Club, were first class, they couldn't do enough for you, excellent service and very friendly.
So, in summary we won't go back to The Palace, but not everyone has had the pleasure of staying at the JBH, so don't be put off too much by us, we just know what we like.

We loved this place. Pretty much everything was brilliant and as good as we hoped for our honeymoon. We stayed gold class so enjoyed high tea daily and met loads of great people. It was a really great hotel and as part of the one&only chain (3 hotels side by side) we had plent of different pools, bars and restaurants to enjoy.

Gripes - room was not huge but honestly i did not notice, we went to the pool area and the bars and various restaurants.

What was great - service was brilliant from fresh towels everytime you took a dip to complimantary fresh fruit and sunglass cleaning service poolside. We loved it.

Outside looks very nice the pool & beach staff were great as was the service & food at The Beach bar & grill and The Tangine. We had a gold club room on 5 floor and I dont see any point in paying the extra, the reception is out of the way and the rooms are no different they are quite poorly furnished and not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel in Dubai, room service and house keeping took forever and were poor.Take the shuttle bus to Atlantis by all means but do not rely on it to get back as is completely hit and miss as to times. We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to staying here. It all seemed a little too much trouble for the staff & management the answer to everything was they were nearly full & so they were busy.

Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Everything about it was fantastic. The service was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. Our first time in Dubai and would return to this hotel without any question if we went back. Have never felt strongly enough to write a review before but this place is like out of this world.

Been there with family and friends and enjoyed I think a great full week of heaven.

The good - if you are looking for service, then this is the place you will not miss. Really great place, exellent location, nice rooms, very clean, great rest. and bars around
The bad: Check-in into the room is 14:00 Dubai time, make sure you check your flight schedule and eventually book the room one night in advance. Otherwise typically the flights arrive early in the morning and you risk sitting 6 hours...waiting for your room.. furthermore, the entire city is a construction site, so if you don't mind all the contructions around, all is good.

Other then

We've just returned from 12 fantastic days staying in a gold club room at The Palace.
Was the Gold Club worth it ? Well yes it probably was, if only for the freebie evening drinks in the company of some superb staff & like minded guests.
The whole resort ambiance suited exactly what we were looking for & having stayed in several other hotels in Dubai this is definitely our favourite.
Although on a half board deal we took full advantage of the credits on offer (although they didnt seem to be too generous) & went to many of the other restaurants. Eau Zone in particular rates a special mention by providing probably the best meal the two of us have ever had. The Beach Grill (try the whole Sea Bass .......) & Ninas were also excellent.
Any criticisms? The Gold Club luckily meant we didn't need to use the room mini bar which was extortionate, the on site shuttle between The Palace & Arabian Court was poorly organised particularly between 7 & 8PM & the temperature control of our room shower kept us "interested".
All in all the layout (low rise & well spread out), facilities & staff made this a very memorable holiday for us, we will be returning.
