This is our second time staying at the one and only ,we stayed at the Arabian court last year ,we preferred staying there than the palace we found it more busy and bigger in the palace . Have to thank vicky in the entertainments for being amazing and keeping my husband busy with volleyball in the pool and playing table tennis great guy . All the staff were friendly and a couple of staff rejoined us from last year . Would recommend this hotel we love it but would stay next time at the Arabian court .

Very noticeably, none of your reviewers, even the most grumpy ones, has anything bad to say about this wonderful hotel! Of course it is hugely expensive, but what a holiday! This hotel has everything, even a LIBRARY, or book-swap shelf, for travellers like us who like to laze by a pool and read rather than do anything energetic. Pool AND beach: what more can anyone ask? We must have been there at a quiet time (September) as we never once had to wait for a lift.

When you visit so many hotels as part of your work, when you find one like this you just want to keep it a secret. I had a club room in the palace well worth the extra money as I was on an R&R holiday. Big massive shout out to Mickey, Phone, Mary, Porsche, and finally the super Melvin from the club lounge. These guys all deserve a massive pay increase and the owner of the resort should go and shake their hands. These are hospitality professionals of the heavy weight variety - they engage you, remember a small element of what your plans are then the next day ask how your meal was at the restaurant you talked about with them the day before. Its effortless customer service which is not in your face, I still smile when thinking about how they all diplomatically and professionally handled the "difficult" guests.

Celebrities is amazing to say the least the Maître D' there is a real professional and should be very proud of his team. The grill restaurant on the beach is fab. I am so cross with myself but I forgot the names of the two guys in the lobby bar, each night I met with them they where top notch. Very funny and so service orientated, they called golf buggies for me and also gave me loads of advise on which bars to drink in and what restaurants to visit. I went to Nina and this was one of the best meals I had in my life, again the Maître D' here was awesome. Again I was so cross with myself as I could not eat all the food which was awesome as I was too full. Afternoon Tea and Canapés and drinks each night in the club lounge were fab its a great place to meet your fellow holiday makers.

What struck me as really odd is so many of the guests knew each other, but it became obvious after a chat with a few of them. Everyone seems to come back again and again here, its like a club or secret society that only the privileged few that have stayed before know about. I can honestly say I knew it was going to be fantastic once I learnt of this.

There are a few little things I think that they could do a wee bit better to give it that extra sparkle like turn down chocolates for Club rooms each evening, ice always in the room each evening and providing an a la carte breakfast choice to include hot food for breakfast in the Club lounge. That's just the critic in me, but to stay ahead in this city you need to think about the little touches. There where a few hiccups like the door men on the night club need to be more guest orientated and less officious. The boat ride over the sister property on the palm was fab, however the service in this hotel is diminutive in comparison to that of the palace.

The swimming pool at the palace is absolutely fantastic, as are the guys that work around the clock to make sure you are treated very well. Cold Towels, ice, water, sunglass cleaner, fruit, and that's before you order a drink! They are so considerate, "I will try and keep these beds for you tomorrow sir" and they lived up to their word. They walk around in the searing hot heat with their shirts stuck to their backs and still manage to smile all day long. They should be allowed to jump in the pool or have better areas to shade themselves in my opinion.

I plan on going back very soon to this fantastic hotel, its like home away from home. The staff deserve great praise and sincere recognition from management without them this would just be another five star hotel without soul. They are the soul, make sure they are looked after!

We've been to the Palace 4 times now and loved each visit! Lovely welcome on arrival. We always upgrade to club room as we feel its fantastic value for money breakfast, afternoon tea then for an hour sometimes longer depending what time of year you go you can use the club lounge for canapes and drinks! We have met lots of lovely staff here so would be unfair to mention a few. Each and every one of them have been so helpful on each stay we've made.
The pool area is beautiful but i have to say we were a bit angry last year at the way some people were being allowed to smoke and flick ash in the pool. I know people return here year after year a bit like ourselves but this is no exception to get drunk & smoke and takeover just because youve arrived! On a whole we've only had one bad experience at the pool and that was last year with screaming kids and noisy drunk families thinking they owned the area!
The beach is gorgeous too and very quiet so if you want away from the pool its only a stone throw away!
Restaurants are beautiful my favourite are Eau Zone,Beach bar and grill and Nina's we tend to rotate between them, we've only done the buffet twice in our 4 visits as we like to be served and found the buffet restaurant just not what we were looking for!
The boat over to The Palm hotel is a beautiful experience we also done this a few times having drinks in the Jetty Bar then over to eat in The Palm its a lovely evening we've ate in all the restaurants there but i love Zest definitely worth a visit! the whole experience was fabulous!
Theres a courtesy bus that we use to go to the shops but im sure it was every hour so we ended up getting a taxi home which is really reasonable!
My husband loved the football and plays every time we visit i have to say its quite entertaining and we've met a few famous players, very amusing to watch how hard the staff love to win! This hotel is a lot smaller than some but there are plenty choice for places to eat and things to do. We prefer smaller and more personnel i think the staff make this hotel very special and go out their way to help and advise you on everything you want to know.Love it its one of our favourites and cant wait to return well done to everyone

Room Tip: Club rooms great value for money sea and pool view

We Spent 11 nights at The Palace from 12th-23rd August and cannot recommend enough our total experience. We are a family of 5 so occupied 2 interconnecting rooms on the 5th floor overlooking the gardens. Having been to Dubai twice before (including staying at One&Only The Palm) as a couple we decided to treat the family to a wonderful holiday, and One&Only Royal Mirage didn't disappoint. We were slightly concerned with the extreme temperatures in the middle of summer but our girls aged 6,8 and 13 acclimatised with no problems and loved the services and pools the complex has to offer. One of our highlights was our housekeeper Visakh who every day left the children different towel animals and went out of his way to leave drawings and messages to them - a really special gentleman!
The food across all restaurants was superb, and we really benefitted from choosing the Half Board option in advance. Olives was our overall favourite due to its varied choices - Fillet Steak, Lobster, Mussels etc! Restaurant staff were so attentive to the family and would go out of there way to get anything for the children - Tony the head chef cooked spaghetti bolognaise especially for the 2 youngest! The concierge were there for anything you needed always with a smile and a bit of fun and attention for the children (thanks to Goodwin, Martina and Charlene especially during our stay). Pools, grounds, beach were always spotless and the constant supply of iced water really went down well. We did make use of the boat transfer to have a meal at 101 at The Palm - which is a striking location and bought back good memories for my wife and I. I would recommended the Hotel speed boat trip around the Palm and across Jumeriah Beach to The Burj Al Arab - wonderful views and amazing to see the private islands - what a way of life!
So all in all well worth the money - very family friendly - plenty of excursions (The 4x4 Desert Safari, At The Top Burj Kalifa and a Dolphin Encounter at Atlantis Waterpark were the kids favourites). Hotel superb in all accounts and don't worry about the weather - it may have been 40 degrees+ everyday but we spent many hours outside on the beach and pool every day without worry. Thank you One&Only Royal Mirage - we miss you and hope to come back in the future.

Great experience, staff was very friendly; we arrived early in the morning and while waiting for the room we were brought tea and nibbles and had one of the staff giving us tips on local activities, restaurants, etc.; food was great in all restaurants of te hotel; it's worth taking the boat and have dinner at The One and Only on the Palm.

We have just returned from this hotel stay was 25/aug till 1st sept the 1 st time here ,

We enjoyed it very much, the staff are excellent especially round the pool and the beach, they can't do enough for you and as the suites were not booked the staff gave us the bedwin tents around the pool.
Every day the towels were out and water iced was supplied when they saw your glass empty, and if they thought you wasn't drinking enough would tell you you wasn't drinking enough. The boys came round and leaned your sun glasses and sprayed your face with cold spray the cooling spray, and came round with cold fruits on cocktail sticks.

The rooms in gold club were very nice and he bathrooms big with walk in showers and baths , and plenty of lovely toiletries , as it was our anniversary we had a beautiful bouquet of 20 white roses Lilly's and green foliage and a heart which was edible with cakes and sweets in which was lovely for our anniversary.

The club was very disappointing the Sri is in happy hour were very few and not good compared with other clubs we've used in other hotels. There were no cocktails and on he day mo milkshake s ect , afternoon tea was good but at night the food was not good .

The rester-aunt s we used were good and e got a good allowance so could choose anything off the menu , we had half board at the same rate as b@b so was good value.

Be aware though drinks are very expensive in the hotel like all hotels so its worth having club rooms as the fridge is full all the time with soft drinks

Loved our stay and 1 st time at this hotel, but don't know if would go back as we've been going to Dubai for 17 years and use the same hotel.

Room Tip: Always have club rooms if not to expensive worth it even for soft drinks as very expensive in hotel...
