“An incredible stay - a five star hotel that delivers a five star experience.”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

We have just returned from our honeymoon which included a 5 night stay in the Palace. As this was our first time to Dubai we had no idea what to expect but were blown away with the hotel, staff and facilities from the moment we were greeted. The staff were so helpful and courteous and in particular Charlene at guest services was a huge help, with excellent tips and recommendations which made our honeymoon even more special. We were greeted with 2 dozen red roses in our room, as well as chocolates and macaroons throughout our stay. We had commentary half board which was excellent and we choose to use our 160 AED each in the a la carte restaurants which was more than enough for a main course and then paid extra for a starter and drinks. I would highly recommend the restaurants as the food is incredible and service excellent. The shuttle between The Palace and Arabian Court is very quick and frequent and made visiting the bars and restaurants a very easy process.
The pool area is lovely, although the pool itself was very cold (refreshing in the 40 degree Dubai heat though!) and the staff keep you topped up with complimentary iced water, as well as fruit kebabs, cold face cloths, sunglasses cleaning etc. a very nice touch.
We had a very early start the morning we left for the Maldives and were advised that we could have breakfast in our room free of charge before 6:30am - again a lovely touch.
An excellent experience and we are already planning to return.

This was our third visit (third year in a row) and we stayed for two weeks. Most of our trip was during Ramadan but that was no problem at all. We stayed in the Gold Club rooms and can fully recommend paying a little extra to get the benefits. We had a lovely room that overlooked the pool and it was very spacious with a King size bed. We were travelling with our 7 year old and he had a 'put me up' bed next to ours. Even with this there was still plenty of space.

We arrived the day after our son's birthday and a few days into our visit, we came back to our room one evening and found a chocolate birthday cake set out on a beautiful trolley with red rose petals, silver platter and dome lid and candles. A lovely surprise.

The pool was fantastic, spacious and cool. Ranjith would look after us every morning despite the fact that he was busy cleaning the pool. The service at the pool every day is fantastic, with the pool guys coming round with ice cold water, cleaning your sunglasses and spraying your face with cool water. One of these guys, Sasi, was excellent. He always had a smile on his face and would joke with our son.

The restaurants were as good as ever. Fantastic breakfast buffet at Olive's, something for everyone. We visited all the restaurants and enjoyed them all. Olive's was not as good in the evening but still ok. There is a shuttle bus that runs every few minutes so that you can use the restaurants at the Palace and the Arabian Court. Our favourite was Beach Bar and Grill and the Head Waiter Raj was fantastic. We went there about 4 times during our stay and he would always come over and say hello. On our last night, he had a message piped onto the plate of our dessert, in chocolate, wishing us a good trip home - a lovely touch.

The Gold Club is very good value with free soft drinks, afternoon tea and happy hour (two hours). Micky who worked in the Club lounge was brilliant, always smiling. However, sometimes it was very busy and he could have done with some help. The Gold Club has it's own reception and they were very efficient. We had a problem with our pre booked taxi on the way back to the airport and they sorted it out in just a few minutes.

However, Krishna at Guest Services was the most amazing member of staff there. He was very knowledgeable and would always give us great advice when needed. We have known Krishna for the three years we have been going to the Palace and he has always been very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble.

Everywhere you go in the hotel, everyone working there will stop and say hello, whatever job they do. Sharma from security is also someone we have met over the last couple of years and he will always stop and chat. All the restaurants have managers on duty and nearly all of them will come and check that you are happy with the meal and enjoying your stay.

The hotel, facilities and quality of food in this hotel is amazing but the very high standard of service is what makes it such a great place to stay. I would recommend it whole heartedly and we hope to go back there again and again.

When you arrive at the hotel the staff are ready and waiting for your arrival. The hotel is beautiful, right on the beach with a range of restaurants between The Palace and Arabian Court. Nothing was too much effort from anyone and there was nothing to fault. I would love to go back again!

Back again this time our wedding anniversary, wow and what another fantastic 10 days.nothing is never any trouble. Everything was perfect and cant wait to come back again, we have been talking and may be next year we will be back.
1 small thing a minor thing, the new celebrities restaurant looks very lovely, but just prefer the chef cooking the eggs omelette and so on In front out you, like in olives restaurant and before the makeover. But this is just a personal preference it's nice to watch and interact with the chef. See you all soon.

Lovely resort with a perfect pool and beach area. Plenty of space and shade between luxury sun loungers. We upgraded to Club rooms - think these are similar to other rooms but with free drinks and afternoon tea. Lovely place for a few days of blissful understated luxury. Would love to return.

Room Tip: club room for value

Just returned from another wonderful stay at this hotel, food, pool, service and room all as good as usual, Olives the buffet restaurant has really improved due to the new French chef and the beef wellington was as good as in any michellin starred restaurant I have eaten in London!
All the restaurants are lovely and the latest re-furbishment of Celebrities is stunning.
The club rooms are well worth having for the on tap soft drinks, coffees, afternoon tea and 'cocktail 2 hour' where all alcohol is free, the guest relations desk there is really useful too.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: we always have the top floor, level 5

We stayed for just over a week at this lovely resort and had a fantastic and relaxing time.

We arrived quite late and check in was swift. We were given some information about the resort, HB etc and shown to our room. I had a query re a dinner booking and by the time we had unpacked a note was put through the door with the answer. We slept in late so missed breakfast on the first day. So we dined at the Beach bar & Grill for lunch, which was excellent.

We met the manager at a cocktail reception and I asked him about the WI FI situation. He explained that it was a big cost to the hotel and not so easily included in room prices as in America and Europe. Free WI FI is available at the business centre so we went their daily to get e mails etc.

A note re HB not all restaurants will offer you the HB menus so do ask. You have a credit of 160dhm per adult and 80 dh per child. As we booked two rooms our 14 year old got an adult credit. Only after we queried our bill. We did not have one bad meal, Celebrities was our favourite. The manager was very good and the food cooed to perfection. There are two choices for breakfast dining. Olives which is buffet and Celebrities which is off the menu. The One& Only the Palm has a stunning looking restaurant called 101. It's definitely worth a visit. You can go by boat from the Jetty, just book in advance.

The rooms are large and very comfortable. Housekeeping did ok, we did have things left in the room which should have been cleared away. Stand out member of staff for us was Sisi the pool guy. He could not do enough for us, always making sure we had iced water, towels a good spot etc. The pool is fabulous, nice and large with little alcoves under palm trees and it never seemed crowded.

An excellent hotel which will leave you feeling calm and relaxed. Plus a little heavier.

Room Tip: Choose 124/125 connecting rooms straight out to the pool.
