My wife and I took a five day break from work in Saudi Arabia in July. Our first stay at the Hilton and a very good hotel but we were not happy with Ramsays restaurant (see below) . We took one of the executive rooms on the upper floors. Modern decor, full height windows and a great bathroom. Good location with most places within a short taxi ride.
Nice modern airy breakfast room and the exchange arangement with the Jumeirah Beach Hilton is worth using.. we had a good day on the beach there.
Staff were possibly too attentive.. a number of calls from various members to check whether we were happy with the room/tidyness/etc etc.
As to Ramsays.. very good menu, excellent food but SMALL (and I mean small) portions. I was astonished however at the blatant con trick pulled by the staff as my wife and I arrived for our meal. As we sat down the waiter said 'Glass of champagne sir' in such a manner that I (and my wife) assumed was some form of complimentary offer. It turned out that it wasn't.. the bill came to over 1000 Dh (about 150 pounds) and 460 Dh (about 60 pounds) of that was for the 2 glasses of champagne.
Mr Ramsay should attend to that. Until he does we shall eat elsewhere when next in Dubai.
