“Impressive modern resort-style hotel”

We visited for several nights on stopover to and from Europe with two small children in tow.

Very close to airport, 5-10 minute taxi-ride. Resort style hotel, with traditional 5 star luxury, combined with impressive gardens and large swimming pools catering to adults and children. Very generously sized room, large bathroom, all amenities at hand. Bottled water and fresh fruit provided in the room.

Lovely buffet breakfast with a huge variety of food styles on offer, many items cooked to order. Excellent table service and attention to detail. Particular thanks to chef Victor, who made extra efforts to make breakfast food to the taste of a choosy 3 year old!

Small problem with our booking through a third party agent, but issue deal with quickly, without hassle.

Extremely helpful staff, all needs catered for. Very family friendly. Room service food high quality, quick service and reasonable value.

We look forward to staying again.

We were very impressed with this hotel. Very beautiful and welcoming lobby. Service was fantastic. Our room was huge and very nicely decorated. Bathroom was great. Bowl of fruit a nice touch. View was stunning. We used the swimming pool. It was well staffed and quick service if you want a drink. We had dinner at the market cafe. We can't fault it, it was delicious. There was a car service at the hotel which we used to rent a car. It was very professionally run. When we go back to Dubai we will definitely stay here again.

I attended an Iftar last weekend and on first impressions the ballroom looked amazing and the waiters were very friendly.
Once we started eating it was clear that although the food had been sitting in the bain marie's for some time, they were not keeping the food hot and therefore the food was very disappointing as I expected a lot as a hotelier.
The pasta was stiff and stuck together and very cold. The other dishes were also luke warm or cold.
Desserts were great and salads were mediocre.

My biggest surprise was when I witnessed a chef (colleague in the red hats) walk around the buffet to see what he fancied. He picked a plate and then proceeded to fill it with several items (clearly for his dinner) and then go into the kitchen. He forgot the sauce and came back, selected a bowl and filled it and took this to the kitchen. Bearing in mind that this was a private function and not a pubic restaurant, he had no right to eat our food; surely there is a staff restaurant where food is served. I discussed this with my table as it was happening and it was definitely not a tasting or quality control session, but someone getting his dinner. This should not be allowed at all.

We take this opportunity to assure you that we are committed to ensuring that each guest is presented with a dining experience which is pleasant from all aspects including ambience, service and food options. We apologise if this was not up to your expectations during your visit. Your comments have been shared with the culinary team for their immediate review and action to ensure any shortfalls are improved upon.

I would also like to mention that our chefs or service staff is occasionally tasked to prepare plates of food from the buffet to arrange for table-service (when previously arranged by guests). At no time, does any staff member personally consume any food which has been prepared and served for guests.

We hope that this experience does not deter you from returning to the hotel in future.

When we arrived at the grand hyatt hotel after spending a nice day in the city of Dubai, we were up for some after dinner shisha. We were told that the only place to have this, would be the ramadan tent. The two of us were trying to find our way through the hotel, looking for the ramadan tent; obviously not considered as serious guests, since we were two rather young, non-local guys. Not properly escorted, trying to find our way, we finally arrived at this tent 15 minutes later. When we entered the tent, a rather impolite, not to say angry hostess did not even take the effort to normally great us, but to ask for our ID's immediately, since she thought that we were not above 21. However, we showed our ID's and got in but again, obviously not taken seriously. The impolite -without having the capability of offering five star service- hostess seriously said the following: 'Are you really 21? Because you look very young to me' at which I responded: you just saw our ID's. Here response was shocking: 'Yes, but you look very young to me, like 18 or so'. I was pissed off by this girl, who on earth does she think she is, and to get to insult a paying guest like this. (I sincerely hope she reads this, for her own professional development).

We ordered some water, two turkish coffee, and our shisha. The ambience of the tent was ok, but there was seriously way to much staff, not even friendly faced. The shisha was very nice, charcoals were replaced every 5 minutes, turkish coffee was also nice.

But the bill, 205 dirhams, for two turkish coffee, one small bottle of water and one shisha. Are you kidding me? If there was a proper escort to the tent, fabulous (not to say 5-star) service, and friendly waiters/hostesses, this would not have been as shocking as it was to me.

I know the drill about providing good service, since I have been in F&B and hospitality for some years now, and this was WAY below 5 star.
Dear Grand Hyatt, if you cannot provide decent service, and take not take real paying guests seriously (probably because we aren't locals, who just want to experience the ramadan culture) please do not attempt to do so.

I love this hotel, it has everything you need. A huge pool aerea, lots of restaurants buffet style as well as fine dining style. And there is cinema nearby and Wafi Mall in walking distance. Great as well for stopovers, it's only minutes to the airport.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel, very family friendly and conveniently located close to great places such as the famous Dubai mall, the city center etc.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite at times throughout our stay. Our special regards and thanks to Ryan who sincerely went beyond the usual call duty to ensure that we were always comfortable at all times.
We highly recommend this hotel for first time visitors to this great city.

Room Tip: we found the higher floor rooms more convenient with great views of the city.

My decision to choose this hotel was based upon location to Airport and activities for children. We travelled through Dubai (one night stopover) from Brisbane on our way to Frankfurt with our three year old daughter.
Hotel location is great! Certainly met our expectations for easy access to/from airport. We could have however done more research on cost of taxi as became aware we paid far too much for our ride from the airport to the hotel. On our way back, the Hotel arranged and agreed a fare for us, wonderful and helpful staff.
We arrived early, easy book in process and agreed to the Club Room upgrade (best decision).
Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean and easy access to the Club Room lounge.
The Hotel pool facilities were exactly what we needed to occupy ourselves and our daughter most of the day (lemonade icy pole was delicious whilst lounging about beside the childrens slide-pool)!
The Club Room offerings were quite simply stunning, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and were able to partake again for a late morning tea...we did not need lunch! The buffet for the evening was enough to serve as our dinner and included drinks. As a family we dined in a separate area which, despite feeling segregated, was ideal when dining with a child (TV very handy). The staff could not be faulted, they attended to us regularly, even bringing plates of food for us to try.
We really enjoyed staying here even just for one night! Yes, the cost of your stay may seem high, however I felt I received quality service and experience. I highly recommend this hotel!
