My wife and I have been going to the Jebel Ali hotel since 2004 and numerous times, twice a year.
The first year on our arrival at the hotel, our taxi door opened we were welcomed to the hotel by a lovely fellow by the name of Kamara, he had lovely smile and hoped we would enjoy our stay, as we went into the reception area we were asked if we would like a cocktail whilst we were waiting to be booked into the hotel, this was very nice.
Eventualy we were taken to our room we were very pleased with this room as it was spotless, there were a vase of fresh flowers, a bottle wine, and a bowl of fresh fruit and a Hello magazine as a welcome gesture, once we had settled into our room we went down to the reception area to have a browse around the hotel and complex, we found to our delight that everything was excellent.
The beach, the swimming pools, restaurants, sports cafe, shooters, captains bar. anchor bar, the all complex was excellent, couldn't have wished for anyhing better.
After our two weeks stay we found that all the services was excellent, i e room boys, all the resaurant chefs and the waiters and the waitress's, they all had lovely smiles on their faces
and always spoke nicely to everyone, even the management from top to the bottom were all delightful.
On the day we were leaving for home, we had dicided that this was the best place for us to spend all our future holidays.
Over the last eight years we have seen quite a few changes, i e New build of the Spa,the Majed Restaurant refurbished, the Sports Cafe refurbished, the Jebel hotel completely closed for refurbishment, the shooters, and we as a couple have been on holiday at this hotel during quite a few of the refurbishments, and we can assure people that this didn't interfere or spoil our stay at all.
We are booked in at this hotel again for August 2012, and we have been informed about the refurbishment of the Palm Tree Court hotel, and we have no doubts at all, that we shall still have a lovely holiday at the Jebel, because the management have got everything under control.
Anyone who as booked to stay at the Palm Tree Court hotel during the refurbishment, and have been asked by the management if they would like to move over to the Jebel hotel say yes, please be assured by us that this will not disrupt your holiday at all, as when the Jebel was being closed for the same reason we were asked if we would move to the Palm Tree Court, and we accpted this and this was another excellent holiday for us, so don't miss out on a good holiday because of this refubishment.

My wife and I would like to take this oportunity to thank Mr D. Thomson. Mr F.Reinisch. and all there staff for making our stay over the years at this Hotel the best ever .

Just got back from resort and it is a resort.Great variety of food, all eating areas were providing different menus and not all serving the same stuff.Great variety of drink, all types of premium drinks under the All inclusive banner including Peroni,Becks,Stella artois,Guness, Magners etc. truly provides for visitor's varying pallet.
Good pool area and beach area, plenty of beds, parasols etc.
Place was kept very clean, room was cleaned twice a day.
Varying resort activities-watersports,shooting,horse riding, camel riding and taxi ride into furthest parts of the city was £15 one way or if used metro you could have that.
Felt very safe in city no issues with different cultures.Staff are very friendly and helpful, got to resort at 9.00(check not until 15.00) but I was in my room at 11.00

Be aware though-the jebel ali is located on the far end of Dubai dock and the Jebel Ali palm is incompleted(Work is stopped until at least 2014) so it may be a slight eyesore for some people.Location is out of town but taxi and metro is probably the only thing in Dubai that is cheaper than UK.Shopping bargains are are myth in the large shopping mauls, not sure about Gold though.Be aware that the price for this holiday soars in our winter, cheapest time to go is when Dubai is hottest i.e. 50 degrees. Most days on my break were in the low 40's.

One other small thing is that the waiters could not deal with rude customers i.e.the one's that would come up to the bar and order a drink without being curteous to others who were in front of them, this was annoying for me as a simple "I am serving someone else" and serving them in time would have been fine, generally these were our eastern european friends
Slight reluctance to get soft drinks to take back to room from the main bar but not always

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are the same size as standard rooms. It is nice to have a shared balcony with all the...

We stayed at this hotel for the first week of our honeymoon. It was our first stay in Dubai and we booked the hotel through destinology who I can also recommend.

Upon arrival we received a complimentary upgrade from a garden view room to an executive suite which was really nice, very spacious with 2 balconies, a large bathroom and walk in wardrobe. We had our own lounge which served a separate breakfast and evening drinks just for the guests staying in the executive suites. The service from the outset was great. We received a lovely surprise on the first night, a bottle of prosecco, strawberries and chocolate as well as a vase of red roses.

The resort itself is fantastic! It's set on it's own beach about 40 minutes from the city centre. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, sugary white sands which are combed every morning. There are plenty of beds set around the pool, in the gardens and on the beach so no need to get up early to claim a spot! There is a smaller beach just by the Marina which we spent most of our days, with not another soul in sight! Our very own private paradise! We could never figure out why nobody went on that beach!

I have to confess when I booked the holiday I was slightly worried about how far out the hotel was. As keen travellers we really wanted to see the sights of Dubai. However the hotel has it's own coach service which runs several times a day to various places. We also booked a taxi through the concierge at the hotel to take us to the Burj Khalifa which took us 35 minutes and cost 86 dirhams (about £15). The hotels location really wasn't an issue at all and in fact turned out to be an advantage, away from the hustle and bustle! There is so much to do on the resort you could never be bored! Guests at both the main hotel and the palm court can use all facilities in both hotels.

Now for the best bit - the food! We were spoilt for choice! The hotels have 2 buffet restaurants which have different themes every night plus the White Orchid (Thai al la carte), La Triviata (Italian al la carte), shooters (steak house), the sports bar (serves traditional pub grub) and the captains bar which turns into a BBQ night. The hotel also has its own boat restaurant, the Divaz. The food quality was superb in every restaurant and we ate in a different restaurant every night. We couldn't fault a thing! The choice in the buffets was huge.

My advice would definitely be to go all inclusive. The value for money is excellent. We had fillet steaks several times. Most branded drinks are also included but everything is clearly marked if it's not included e.g. Lobster, champagne.

Overall we absolutely loved this hotel and would love to return. The friendliness and excellent service of all staff we encountered is a true testament to the hotel! The food quality in every restaurant is 5 star, cannot be faulted. The spa is also fantastic!

Thank you for making the first part of our honeymoon so special. See you all again next year we hope!

Where do you start ??.. Holiday'd at the Jebel Ali May 11 - thru 19. We were looking for an " all inclusive package " as Dubai isn't cheap these days for eating and drinking. This was our 5th time in Dubai and the first time at the Jebel Ali. So, as we said, where do you start?.

The hotel looked massive from the pictures in the brochures but infact only has rooms on five floors. We were upgraded to the 5th floor as we were celebrating my birthday while in Dubai ( main reason for travel ). The 5th floor has it's own check in and the rooms are great !. The suite was absolutely excellent. The mini bar wasn't part of the " all inclusive package " though !. Room was attended to at least twice a day. There are three staff to look after you and a young lady called " Florence " was exceptional!. Nothing was too much trouble.

We visited all the restaurants and bars while there and found everything to be exceptional. Our first experience in the " Shooters Restaurant " was not what we expected. A cross between Tex-Mex and Steaks. We wouldn't use the word " complain " in it's usual context - only to say we spoke with the assistant manager after the meal was cleared and voiced " our concerns ". Then the manager - Mr Ahmed - hunted us down and noted, with concern and clarity, what our issues were. We were then invited back and what a difference. Great steak - and the Shooters Restaurant VERY worthy of your time.

Our favourite restaurant was perhaps the " White Orchid ". Two meals there and both exceptional. Do the Teppenyaki experience. Possibly, got the careful here, possibly the best meal we've ever had. La Traviate too - book early to avoid dissapointment in any of these fine restaurants. The manager of this restaurant too worthy of high praise. Remembered our names etc even when we were walking about the resort. There was of course the normal buffet in the main building featuring different " themes " every night. French, Spanish, German - you get the picture. We used this only for breakfast really. Lunch at Captains Bar - try the fish and chips - brilliant. We were concerned at the stigma of " brits abroad eating fish and chips ". This wasn't - believe us - this wasn't like any fish and chips you get here in the UK. Loved the music here too!

We spent our days by one of three pools. Life guards VERY helpful and a credit to the hotel. The pools immaculate. Child friendly - two pools have covers to protect the little ones from the mid-day sun. Plenty of sun beds and don't be put off if you see every bed has a towel on it when you arrive. The pool guys put a towel on every bed ( yellowry - orange colour ) but this is purely for you to add your own too. We thought the first day that everything was taken - how wrong.

All inclusive package. Usually the drinks prove weak - we know - we've travelled. Not the Jebel though. In other All-Inc places we've visited you get the local beer, local wine and watered down gin, vodka etc. Not here. Budweisser, Sol, Amstel - you name it. Branded gin - Bombay - " all inc ". Pinot, Sauvignon and Chemin blanc - all inclusive. And what a way to compliment the highest levels of food by accompanying any meal with such choice.

Any niggles - negatives.? Only that we didn't book this hotel the last time we were in Dubai.

Positives !. We're already looking to book again for next year - do the ten day package though. 7 is too short, 14, we consider, too long.

Truely enjoy readers !!!!! It is " outstanding "...........

Room Tip: All the rooms are good!. Garden view - sea view. You don't spend that much time in your room any...

My wife and i stayed in a Junior suite, ground floor which was only about 100 yards from the fantastic beach. We were in a block of rooms close to some building work but can honestly say there was no disturbance or noise, and it did not interfere with our relaxation. The suite was well furnished, if a little dated, with a huge bed, desk, wardrobes etc. Bathroom was super. Free Wifi was very welcome. We were at the Resort part business as we were attending a black tie function actually on the beach in a purpose built arena, this was fantastic with good food, very attentive service and all round excellent evening. We stayed a few extra days. We were all inclusive which has got to be great value with a selection of good restaurants to chose from but we would advise booking early in the day to be sure of a table. Staff were good but not the best we have experienced except in Reception where they were exceptional. The one drawback on our stay were the abundance of children. There presence meant very noisy mealtimes.....what in earth has happened to table manners and parental control, do they leave these at home or are they just not taught these days. Even in the main hotel there was a groups of unsupervised children roaming late at night. Perhaps some adult only areas would be an idea. One last thing the gardens are superbly landscaped with peacocks all over the place, golf buggies can be called for to take you from place to place which we would recommend at night as the lighting isn't very good a night and my wife fell in a dimly lit section and to add in her defence she had only had one glass of wine.
The Resort despite being promoted as a Spa and Golf Resort seem to be pitching towards families, which is fine if you have young children, but not if you are a mature couple looking for a quiet time on your terrace, at lunch or dinner, or lying by the pool.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room as far from the central area as possible at it is quieter and you have e...

My family and I stayed here for one night as part of my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration, but as you can use the facilities on the day of arrival we nearly had 2 full days there. We had 3 rooms in total, they all had sea views and were lovely, had everything you could want and were spotless. The facilities and the pools are excellent, the staff are very helpful and the beach is lovely. No it isn't in the centre of Dubai, but you would know that when booking and the view is interrupted by the port on one side and unfinished work on the other but this did not spoil our stay.
We had lunch twice in the Captains Bar on the beach and the food was delicious, although on the second day, my steak sandwich was stone cold. We were disappointed that all the restaurants were fully booked for our evening meal, and we ate in the buffet restaurant, however, the food there was excellent and the white chocolate dessert was delicious! The hotel were aware that it was my parents anniversary and had left flowers, balloons and a cake in their room - a lovely touch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could not fault the hotel, I could have stayed there forever!
