Very convenient as it is located near international airport and golf courses. Private beach club and hotels own night club - oxygen is major attraction in this budget. Buffet Restaurant - Choices is must visit, it offers Italian Cuisines.
Despite this hotel staff is somehow illiterate and undisciplined. They will try to foul you if our demanded / ordered thing is unavailable.
I request hotel management to hire well trained staff for excellent customer satisfaction

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for taking time to post your comments on TripAdvisor on your recent visit to Al Bustan Rotana Dubai.
I would like to take this opportunity to clarify for the readers that we do not have any night club, as Oxygen night club has been closed in 2007.
Choices restaurant offers an Itaian themed buffet every Wednesday night, Latina Cucina every Thursday, Indian night every Tuesday and the very popular seafood night on Sundays.
Once again Thank you for your comments, and we look forward welcoming you soon at Al Bustan Rotana Dubai.

I was told Al Bustan means orchard or garden in Arabic . Well, this definition may not exactly fit the Al Bustan Rotana, Dubai, it certainly comes across as a classy business hotel in a radius of 10 km of Dubai airport. My first experience with Al Bustan Rotana left me quite a neat impression!

Starting right at the airport, the Rotana counter at Dubai Airport Terminal 3 which welcomes you with a chilled bottle of water, the courteous staff at the airport counter who takes you to the pick-up car, the friendly lobby staff who guide you to the reception, the crisp, clear and quick front-desk staff ("beds combined or separate? if you need a combined bed, you may need to wait for 45 mins, your plan is inclusive of breakfast, we have 5 restaurants at the hotel"..), it's a classic business hotel which can fit into in any part of the world.

The service is very good - the responsive housekeeping, the waiters at the restaurant, the bellboys..The breakfast has a good spread and caters to tastebuds from different parts of the world.. the service is quick and unobtrusive. Sadly, I didn't have a chance to try out any of their restaurants (I was told their Thai restaurant Blue Elephant. is one of the best in all of Emirates). Well, may be next time..

Next time? Yes, why not? when the hotel is 15 mins away from the airport and 10 mins away from Dubai Airport Free Zone (where your office is located), and when you have a comfortable, full-fledged business hotel around, which you are happy with, and when there are things left to explore with the hotel, would you try anything else? May be not..!

The hotel was decently located but it's not the biggest hotel for the price. The rooms were surprisingly a little small, but the bathrooms were big. The staff was very courteous and polite, and the overall ambience was nice and clean. The one surprisingly great aspect was the hotel gym. Incredible! They had almost all the machines and weights one needs for an intense workout as well as 2 squash courts in the gym. I was honestly surprised by this. Another great experience was the breakfast. What a Spread! and delicious to say the least. I don't usually like breakfasts in hotels, but Al Bustan definitely sits atop my list of breakfast experiences!

I had to stay in this hotel to attend a conference that was taking place there. This was the first time I stay in this hotel, I have no plans to return. I stayed in worse hotels in other parts of the world, but for Dubai, there are many better alternatives at this rate.

The hotel is dated, not very bad, but could use some work. Breakfast is fine, but the service in the breakfast room is not very good. In three days, I had something go wrong at the breakfast room every day. This included things like omletes that were not cooked properly or that never arrived, cold tea, tea not arriving, ...etc.

My main issues with the hotel were the staff, customer service is not good and I have had quite a few incidents. I am from Oman, and my I go to Dubai at least 5 times each year for the past 12-15 years. So I am familiar with how things work in Dubai and the prices ...etc.

Issues with the staff included, refusal to supply some items such as a loan of iron ..etc. Another issue is that the guys at the front of the hotel try very hard to avoid regular Dubai transport taxi's and go for the much more expensive taxi's, these alternative taxi's are licensed, but they cost double. The difference in price is not informed to the customer. I was hustled into one of these taxis and refused asking for a regular beige taxi that was queing infront of the hotel. I came to know later that some commission is shared with the doorman by the more expensive taxi and that this is the reason for the scam. Reception staff tried to upsel the room really hard as well which is distressing during check in.

It is a pitty that the staff are not good. The hotel facilites are not really bad the location of the hotel will be good for transit through Dubai. However, hotel staff leave a lot to be desired.

Made reservation for hotel and transportation, pre-paid. When I arrived airport, went to the hotel counter at the terminal -- the clerk offered to let me hire a private car for 50AED or 20-30 AED for a taxi --- even though I had already paid once. Despite having a club room, which i believed included transportation to / fm hotel, she said hotel doesn't have transport shuttle. (i later learned that i was correct - club room includes to/fm transport and the hotel does have shuttle.) I went with taxi --- 23.50 aed and the hotel was less than 1/2 a block away !!!!!! Check in was horrible - and confusing, as the little blonde gal at the front was sooo soft spoken and mumbled -- i couldn't understand what she was asking/saying.

1 hr 40 mins to check in after a long flight. 1 check in clerk for 4 people in line -- lots of suits wandering around, but they couldn't be bothered -- but as soon as an airline Capt showed up, he was immediately pulled out of line, and helped instantly.

i asked if my room had been upgraded, per my online request --- clerk mumbled something about them not doing upgrades at desk. I got key to room and went up. Turns out, i was upgraded -- but didn't know it until day 2 of my 5 day stay !!! The front desk never gave me club information letter and or internet information --- and i had to finally call the manager to confirm the club and internet data.

Club --- sad. Daily hours were not bad, but the staff was clearly overwhelmed with number of users and or times. The 1530 -1730 tea wasn't set until 1615 daily -- and then it was not what i expected (pictured). The breakfast meals were fine for all bread eaters -- but little to no protein or fruit. The club front desk was helpful, but they were hard to find.

The mini bar was something of daily challenge --- even though i never opened it, or used anything from it -- at 0845 every morning it was some young man's duty to awake me, even with a do not disturb hanger, to count, re-count and count again --- every bottle, etc. I asked for it to be removed on 3rd day, but they didn't and by 5th morning 0845 sharp -- mr mini bar was beating on the door again. I gave up.

Hot water --- tub had hot water, but shower was barely warm -- i even had house keeping make sure I had the right knobs turned the right way and the he couldn't get it past cool in the shower.

Do not disturb signs --- any time of day, ignored. I had a mid day shower -- and thankfully had chained and put a chair in front of door. . .despite the DND sign, the afternoon room checker plowed right in. My little obstacle course stopped him ! The room was clean and the mini bar counted, so I am not sure why they felt compelled to enter again.

But the pièce de ré·sis·tance was the Saturday night extravaganza !! At 9:45PM a noise was heard throughout the hotel --- think FIFA soccer crowd cheers...meets kids with whistles and screaming/shrieking ...that went on and on for hours !!! The hotel is built around a large open atrium/foyer and the noise carried up and into every room. Really ? to start the full blow concert at 9:45PM for all the sleeping patrons to enjoy.

I am not sure how they achieved their rating --- I was there Wed - Sunday, during the end of Eid -- and the celebrations, extra meals, etc. appeared to clearly be more than the staff was capable of handling. The food was always late or didn't appear at all and the service incredibly slow.

The few pluses -- within walking distance of Metro at airport terminal 1 or GGICO terminal. It is very short, but a little winding so look at google map. Front desk was no help -- the only direction i received was go left --- which isn't that helpful.

There is a shopping shuttle, but it is completely unreliable for times listed. It is NOT direct and stops at about 10-12 other hotels enroute to the mall which is 1.2 miles away. You circle it -- tempting you that you are finally pulling in. . .but alas, just another hotel driveway and u-turn in the opposite direction. Again short cab ride away -- or two metro stops away.

One afternoon i returned with several shopping bags --- no bellman, no door opened . . .and 7 mins for the elevator to come down.

i can't in good consciousness recommend.

Room Tip: find another hotel. do not bother with club.

We had a one night stay and selected this for proximity to the airport. The hotel rooms are clean and have good comfortable beds.

There is a good breakfast buffet and the staff are welcoming and helpfull.

I requested a baby cot and this was supplied quickly and without fuss.

There is a pleasant outdoor pool deck and well equiped gym for those seeking some sun and exercise.

This hotel was clean, superbly finished and well-maintained. Although the rooms are not very spacious, the decor is smart and modern with a very well-stocked minibar (bit pricey...). Although we visited in Ramadan, the hotel accommodated non-fasting patrons with an open restaurant. The menu available for roomservice is also extensive and not as expensive as one would have expected...some very affordable options available. The late lunch at the Choices restaurant was superb with fresh salad, complimentary warm rolls and delicious pasta (they accommodated us even though they were preparing for the evening feast of breaking the fast!!). The staff spoke english very well and was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the airport and 5-10 minutes from a shopping mall. I will definitely recomend this hotel!!!
