“Still one of the top hotels for service in the world”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

This is our 2nd visit to the Mina and is now firmly part of our annual holiday plans. Our first visit in 2012 was exceptional so we were slightly worried that the hotel wouldn't live up to our expectations. We shouldn't have worried. If anything, our experience this Easter was even better. We travel across the world and have yet to experience such a consistent level of genuine customer service. We were very grateful to the team who helped my husband locate his suit which was left on the plane and diverted to lost property at the airport . He needed his suit for the races and a very stressful situation was resolved with apparent ease. We upgraded to an executive package this year and the option of having pre dinner canapes and drinks was a wonderful addition. We had an Ocean room in the north building (3rd floor). The rooms are starting to get a bit dated but we understand that they will be going through a refurbishment later this year. However its only the technology which is dated and we didn't come away to watch the tv or spend too long on the internet.

Although a full occupancy we didn't feel crowded or surprisingly any reduction in the level of service. We had however booked all our restaurants before leaving the UK which we would advise during peak season. It is a huge complex but the Mina somehow manages to feel like a boutique hotel. Quite exceptional.

Room Tip: We prefer the Ocean room over the Arabian as in 2012 we had a view over the scrub land rather than t...

This is a truly wonderful place to stay, I would recommend to anyone!
The beach is beautiful and the service is outstanding. Great view of the Burj al Arab and complimentary access to Wild Wadi. The Friday brunch is absolutely fantastic. I was so impressed with this hotel.

I stayed with my auntie at the Mina A'Salam for a relaxing 4-night break in June 2012 on a B&B basis. Now realise why it is globally recognised as a classy, luxurious hotel. If you have the cash, definitely splash out at the Madinat.

Service was unbeatable. Every member of staff was so polite and helpful: the room cleaners gave us plenty of water bottles and were friendly; the reception and concierge were welcoming and well-organised; the breakfast waiters were efficient; and the pool/beach boys were discreet.

The private beach was clean and quiet in June (Heavenly! I don't like lots of noisy kids), with good views of the Burj Al Arab. The resort has the most comfortable reclining beach chairs, is generous with beach towels, and is timely with ice cream/ drinks orders.

The rooms are really luxurious with thick carpets and a gorgeous marble bathroom. The rooms and bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned as expected given the standard of the hotel. Although we somehow ended up with a double bed, it was absolutely massive (queen size or larger possibly?)! With temperature souring 40 degreesC we didn't sit out on the balcony, but it did overlook the beautiful water feature and dhow boats with a view of the sea towards the right hand side. Turndown service in the evening was a nice touch. There is wifi in the room which is useful for checking work emails... or showing off to your friends on Facebook!

Overall the Mina A'Salam looks really grand with beautiful decor. I particularly loved the flowers in the lobby, which looks really pretty.

Breakfast buffet was huge and effectively became my brunch: lots of exotic fruits, fruit juices, yogurts, standard cereals, omlette with vegetables, and pastries with tea or coffee (I'm pescetarian and my auntie is vegetarian). On our final evening, I treated my auntie to a dinner at the hotel's Thai restaurant and the food, service, ambience were all perfect. The bill was eye-watering (pricier than top dining places in London), but if like me you have a work hard and play hard ethic you'll realise it's worth every dirham.

Sunset cocktails at one of the hotel bars with a sea view was also really amazing. The bar terrace was not noisy, perhaps because we visited during off-peak season (I can imagine it being packed at Christmas). Again, service couldn't be faulted. The bartender came out onto the terrace at regular intervals to ask us if we wanted more drinks, but was not pushy or annoying, and he took a photo of us with our cocktails :) The cocktails were fresh and tasty.

Location is really great. I bumped into a friend who was visiting Dubai and we managed to spend an afternoon together at Wild Wadi Waterpark which was convenient for me as it's just around the corner (5min walk/2min shuttle bus) from Mina A'Salam and no entry charge for Madinat Jumeirah residents.

This year I'm going elsewhere in the world for my holiday and am struggling to find a hotel that matches up to the levels of service delivered by Mina A'Salam! I think I've been spoilt!

Room Tip: A sea-facing room might sound nice, but be realistic - you're not going to sit in your room all...

This is not my first stay at this hotel, it might the third or fourth i lost count.
I just love the idea of having such a big and beautiful resort with sooo many activities and restaurants and pools tha u could spend a whole week without actually leaving the hotel.
Kids club has a fantastic pool with water sprinkles and a water slide and dedicated staff which are highly trained.
I visit Dubai regularly and i tried a few. But this is one of the best !

Stayed here within a very large (100's) group for a work conferance. The service & presentation of the resort was amazing & did not come across anything negative regarding service. Dined at The Magnolia, beautiful setting. The souk markets were great to explore & many bargains bought. Wish I had of had a beach view room as ours overlooked empty block next door but hopefully something impressive is going to be built there? Loved using the boats to get around and only wish I had of had another week to see & visit more restaurants & bars. Loved the reception foyer & the attention to detail in the matching flowers / petals, very pretty. The room attendants earn every cent, great job :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the canal / beach or pool.
