Our 1st time to dubai staying 10 nights half board with 2 children (15 &10).
Standard rooms are large and, clean with lovely sea views , after 3 nights We decided to upgrade to a 1 bed suite ( room1244) so that the children slept in a separate room to ourselves. There was Plenty of room for the fold down double sofa bed and a extra single bed that the kids used.
The suite had a large terrace balcony with table & chairs as well as loungers (but because of the heat we rarely used the balcony).
Supplied in the suites are fruit, water, slippers, beach flip flops, His & Hers robes, chocalates, beach bags, sun block, mouth wash, soaps, shampoos.
The list of goodies is endless , beware though the mini bar is pricey at around £75 for half bottles of premium brand spirits. Ice is supplied each day and there are coffee and tea making machines in the suite.
As a part of the upgrade we joined the Premium leisure club, which gives access to the plc lounge for afternoon(3-5pm) soft drinks, cakes & rolls (beverages available foc all day) .
Alcholic drinks are also included 6pm-8pm nightly which is great if you like a drink as they are very pricey.(£7 - £9 on average).
The plc upgrade also offers airport transfers in bmws or in our case a larger cadillac escalade, also you have access to a private plc only pool.
The price of our upgrade inc suite and plc was around (£200) per night including taxes.
The weather was baking hot (40+)but the aircon was quiet and efficient in all indoor areas. The pools were lovely and clean with life guards everywhere.
Every restaurant that we used was Superb for food quality ,quantity, variety and service.
All the staff came across as helpful and friendly.
We had fun on the segway safari, the desert safari & bbq, golf at the emirates course, wild wadi water park, snow dubai at the emirates shopping mall and shopping at the madinet jumeirah souk.
Our conclusion on this holiday was that it was the best family holiday we have ever had and the service ,facilities, hotel, food, beach, emirates flights were fantastic and we will be returning asap (sorry caribean, usa, europe, turkey).
Finally thank you to Francis , Albert, Cherry ann, marychris, anaya , jho, shaji and biju from the plc team as well as riaz at reception , Sanddip for cleaning our room perfectly every day of our stay and Mellisa and john at beachcombers to name but a few of the lovely staff working at jbh. See you all soon.

The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is one of the best Hotels in Dubai. As a leisure Hotel it is much more family friendly (and cheaper) than the (vis-a-vis located) Burj al Arab. However since both Hotels belong to the same Group (Jumeirah) it is possible to use the Beach of the Burj al Arab as well. Moreover it is possible to enter Burj al Arab within certain (daily) visiting hours.
Apart From the famous 360 Bar/Club at the end of the harbour, the Hotel has another bar on top of the Hotel (more precisely on the balcony of the highest suite). I can strongly recommend this bar because of the significant view.
The various facilities of the Hotel are all perfect. The Service is also of very highest quality (but still humane and not like Burj al Arab)

The hotel still looks great, two years after our last visit. The beach, the pools, lobby and restaurants are all beautiful. The use of facilities and restaurants at the other hotels in the group was a great bonus. What really stands out is the helpfulness of the staff and the sheer number of them. Around the pools, especially, the life guards kept a very close eye on all the children, which allows parents to relax. On arrival we were upgraded from two rooms (we travelled with two of our children - aged 12 and 13 and so had two rooms booked) to a two bed beachcomber suite. These are on the ground floor and are very large, though the single bathroom is quite small. The real bonus is the large lounge area which allowed us all space, and also the access to the private terrace and from there to the pools and beach, without having to go through the lobby or elevators. We also were on "half board", which was excellent value. We ate at as many restaurants as possible, in the Madinat hotel also and could choose anything from the menus. We went scuba diving (great but water was not clear) and water skiing. Teenage kids are not as well provided for, but younger children were well looked after with many clubs and activities. The water parks (Wild Wadi and Atlantis) are a diversion but cannot compare to the USA parks. The gym is very well equipped and has an excellent range of classes with great instructors. Though the weather in July was very hot and humid, I wish I had booked to stay longer as we had such a great time. The whole family want to return as we enjoyed it even more the second time.

Got back from my 9th visit to Dubai (2nd to Jumeirah Beach Hotel) last week.

Service is fantastic, although it would be nice if staff enforced queuing at reception desks, buffets etc to some guests who have no concept of it. The kids club went down a storm with our 4 year old and the free ice lollies and suncream in the rooms were a nice gesture.

However, do think the clientele has changed dramatically at the hotel and in Dubai in general. The pool area and restaurants were packed with mouthy teenagers and adults shouting at anyone who would listen how much money they had, comparing tattoos and boob jobs and showing absolutely no respect for local customs with regards to dress codes etc.. Next year think we will try the hotel next door, Mina A'Salaam, which seems a lot more tranquil and seems to be frequented by those who are used to travelling outside the Canary Islands/Costas.
