I stayed here with my wife and (then) 4-month old baby for a few nights on our way back from the UK to Singapore last December. Having previously lived in Dubai for two and half years, I was quite familiar with most of the major hotels in the city and wanted a good place to base ourselves whilst we spent time visiting old friends. We weren't disappointed. The hotel is located on the beach in the Marina and within a short walk of a good selection of restaurants at JBR. It can get very busy on weekend evenings though, but ok so long as you aren't driving.
The hotel was undergoing some expansion and consequently there was construction work nearby, although we weren't affected by it at all, so don't let that put you off.
Maybe it was because we had a small baby with us, but the staff could not have been more attentive and friendly at all times during our stay. The only real negative was that despite a request for early check-in (due to an early arrival from the UK), we were unable to get into our room until the last minute. However, once we did get to the room we were very happy with it. It was a great size (as was the bathroom), although I recall the mattress being far too soft for my liking. A personal preference.More
