As soon as we arrived at the Royal Meridian, Dubai, we knew it was going to be an amazing holiday. We stayed for 12 nights in a Tower Suite in September - and loved every minute! The hotel was amazing, the service was better than any I've ever experienced, and the weather was 39-40 deg c every day!
When we were travelling to the hotel, we were a little worried as there is builiding work everywhere you look.... but it wasn't a problem at all.... as soon as you enter the hotel grounds you don't even know it's there, however, just as we were leaving (sept 16th) they were starting to build a new pool at the hotel, so i'm not sure what kind of disruption that will cause.
the food in every restaurant was really, really great...our favourite was "Fusion" - which is a blend of Thai, Malaysian and Indonesian - it was fabulous (we went twice!) Also, the guys in Satchmos Bar were really nice too! Infact ... I can't remember opening a door, pouring a drink, or anything like that while i was there... the service is that great!
the pools are really really nice - and there are pool attendants who come round withdrinks, water sprays and cold towels... which are much needed as it's so hot.
Wild wadi's water park is one to visit...but beware on the rapid ride as the water jets are quite strong and i nearly lost my bikini! also, the shopping is good if you go to one of the many malls... the best one in my opinion is the burjuman (about 30 mins in a taxi from the hotel)
all in all - i would give this holiday an 11 out of 10... i loved every minute - and would go back tomorrow if i could. Have a great time! Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions, and for pics

Oh PS - if you are staying in one of the tower rooms - get your butler to come and run you one of the spa treatment baths in your room - it worked out about £8 a time and they are amazing... you get rose petals and everything!

Just came back from 4 nights in this lovely hotel. We stayed in the Tower and it was worth every penny!!
The service was amazing, nothing was too much. The room was big with everything you needed and the Hermes soaps and shampoos where just another good this about this hotel. The pool area and beach are nice and you get cold towels and water sprays to cool you down! The concierge was always ready to help and give you tips about where to go out at night. We where on half board and it was a good idea as we saved a lot of money. The food was amazing and the breakfast offered anything you could think of.
Finally this hotel made our first visit to Dubai just perfect, I will definitely return to this hotel and believe me the construction does not affect your stay at all. Well done Le Royal Meridien.

This is our second visit to the Royal Meridien Dubai, we have never gone back to the same hotel and destination, but we just couldn't resist it. The problem is that once you have experienced this hotel, it's hard to flick past the Dubai holiday page of your travel brochure. From the moment you arrive through the Royal Meridien Doors you are treated to a level of service that we have yet to find anywhere else. Champayne Receptions, wonderful food, and a spa experience to die for. Even whilst swimming in the pool, the staff chalked up the latest test match score for my cricket mad boyfriend !!! Within minutes of Englands victory, a bottle of Chilled chardonnay was brought to our hotel room by the staff, to help us celebrate England winning the Ashes. You won't be disappointed with this hotel, it sets a standard thats hard to beat.

We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights and I wished we booked for 14 nights. I have never experienced a holiday like this in my life. All the staff are exceptional and so helpful. We arrived and our room wasn't ready so the reception staff upgraded our room to suite in the main building. Our view over looked the pool area and beach. The sunset was beautiful. We had complementary fruit of the day (every day). Around the pool during the day staff hand out ice cold face towels and cold water spray bottles to keep you cool. The restaurants are amazing and I would strongly recommend Mi Vida (if you like seafood), Prime Rib, Sea Breeze and Al Kahim. All in all we had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back next year. Oh and the construction work isn't as bad at its make out to be. Yes they are building appartment blocks around the hotel and it is quite extensive but it is not noisy and you barely notice it.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in June 2005, tagged onto the end of a business trip (We stayed at the Hilton Jumeirah Beach for our business trip and that was also excellent.)
We picked the Meridien Beach & Spa resort because it sounded very luxurious on the website. We were not disappointed!
This is a really fantastic hotel, everything about our very short stay was great, and we couldn't believe what good value for money it was. (We booked direct with the the Le Meridien website online.)
The rooms, the staff and the food are all excellent- particularly the staff- nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
If you like a massage, or beauty treatments the spa is a must- I had a full body massage which was lovely and we also used the Hamman Pools.

The best restaurant we found there was the one where they cook your food outside on a BBQ grill, and serve it to you in the restaurant.
The breakfasts were also lovely with a good choice of food.

If you want a hotel that you would come away from feeling like it was worth every penny, then choose this one. I have stayed in a few different hotels in Dubai and have found them all to be of a really high standard, but this one goes the extra mile, and I am already planning a trip back there next year, this time for a week.

We stayed at the Royal Meridien for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon in July and could not have picked a nicer hotel. On arrival we had organised a car to pick us up but did not expect someone to meet us off the plane and take us through passport control and get our luggage! We were then led to a white 7 series BMW complete with cold towels and water and were taken to the hotel in air-conditioned comfort!

On arrival we were upgraded to the Royal Tower which was a really nice surprise and a good start to the honeymoon. The Tower rooms have their own reception so we were led to check in there and given fresh orange juice and more cold towels! Our room was gorgeous and we had a terrific view of the pool and beach. They had provided a mini breakfast and a bottle of champagne along with fruit of the day, complimentary wine every evening and a selection of canapes. This was to be a daily occurence and we felt very looked after!

We have stayed in hotels all over the world but found this hotel is to be faultless and the service was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and you felt that everything was done from the heart!

The food in the hotels restaurants was excellent too and there were several restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed the pool-bar and eating area during the day aswell. The cold towels were on tap during the day round the pool area, these were life-savers along with the bottled water sprays too!

With regards to the building work on going in Dubai, like one of the other reviews, this did not bother us at all, even though you can see it, surprisingly you cannot hear it.

As far as sights to see, we visited the city shopping mall and the gold souk. The Gold souk is a great place for jewellery and also fake handbags and watches, but you may be led down off the street to a secret location to find these! At first we were slightly dubious but suddenly we were in an Aladdin's cave of floor to ceiling Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton.....heaven for me anyway!! We also did the jeep safari which was fantastic. A very full afternoon of driving, camel rides, sand-boarding, bbq and belly-dancing. Highly recommended, but not for the faint hearted!

Like the typical tourists that we are we decided to have afternoon tea at the Burgh al Arab, which everyone talks about. Yes its a grand hotel and should be visited but I found the service at the Royal Meridien better by far and the hotel is a bit OTT!

I would sum Dubai up as a city of great hotels, great food, great shopping and superb service! Thank you!

This is truly a 5 star hotel, and the majority of things are excellent. The staff go out of their way to help, the rooms(sea view) are beautiful and the food is lush!
BUT the beach is so far from the pools. the hotel is very large and they have a great swimming pool setup but u have to walk so far to get to the sea. Although to be fair they do have a buggy service that comes every 1/2 hour.
They do have a free shuttle service from the hotel to and from the main tourist attractions, which is always a saving.
My overall view of the hotel was that it was lovely, hardly any complaints. However I have visited Dubai many times and this was not the best hotel I have stayed in - for a really truly spectactular stay in Dubai stay at Jumeira Beach Hotel or Ritz - Carlton.
