“Totally loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1”
Reviewed January 8, 2009

My husband, myself & a group of friends stayed at Le Royal Meridien Spa in November 2008 to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday. From the moment we walked through the door at 2:00am we were greeted by the most courteous & welcoming staff which was much appreciated in view of the long flight. & journey we had.

We had originally booked Deluxe Sea Views however we were upgraded free of charge to the Tower Suite. We were also provided with chocolates & champagne while booking in! A butler carried our cases & showed us up to our rooms & upon opening the door to our room....... what a FANTASTIC surprise!!!

ROOM – FIRST CLASS :
1) The HUGEST king size bed I have ever seen!
2) The most GORGEOUS bathroom with a HUGE bath, separate shower, & bidet
3) Slippers & totally luxurious bath robes provided
4) HUGE flat screen TV
5) First class sea view & balcony

CUSTOMER SERVICE – FIRST CLASS
1) Free wine or beer, canopies, newspapers provided every night!
2) Beds turned down every night & chocolates left on your pillow
3) Rooms cleaned immaculately every day
4) Clean towels & bedding provided every day
5) Excellent supply of top quality toiletries provided every day
6) Tea, coffee making facilities with excellent range of tea provided
7) Fresh fruit provided daily
8) As my husband played golf most days, I was personally escorted by one of the breakfast staff to my favourite table located on the balcony which had a stunning sea view & also an excellent view of the Atlantis Hotel & Al Burg hotel
9) Room service addressed you by your name & asked how you were every time you phoned them
10) Many pool attendants were present at each of the 3 pools & carried your towel to your sun bed of choice & laid out your towel on the sun bed. I hasten to add that the sun beds are of top quality!
11) The pool attendants provided free cold flannels & sorbets between 12:00 – 2:30 pm each day
12) All the hotel staff were very professional, kind & could not do enough to ensure you had the best holiday

THE RESORT – FIRST CLASS

Overall, the resort totally exceeded our expectations!
The size of the resort is huge & very pretty and the hotel staff can take you round the grounds on a buggy if you wish!
The resort is very clean & has its own private beach with beautiful soft golden sand & sun beds supplied
There are many restaurants to choose from inside & out with an excellent choice & range of food to choose from

HOTEL & HOLIDAY SUMMARY

The quality of personal service received throughout our stay was second to none.
Le Royal Meridien Spa is by far the best place I have ever stayed – I did not want to go home so I am determined to go back !
TOTALLY highly recommended! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

One of the best holidays we ever had.

We booked Deluxe beach view for 4 nights but the staff was excellent to upgrade to a tower room with free wine everyday.

check in was very smooth with absolutley no delays, staff wr.e excellent (one could not ask for more),beach facilities were great with people always on the look out for our needs.

mexican restaurant MAYA was very disappointing & quit expensive.I would not advice dining in any restaurants unless half board.

would we stay here again? we will ,but dubai as whole is very expensive .

My husband and I stayed at Le Royal Meridien with our 10mth old son in the week leading up to Christmas, including Christmas Day. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing holiday in the winter sun.
The staff at the hotel were brilliant - courteous, attentive and ever helpful. Unlike some places where children are either ignored or treated like another species, the staff fell over themselves to help out and always took time to chat to our son. For older children the daily activities in the Penguin club looked like great entertainment.
The resort complex itself was sumptuous. We stayed in the main complex where all views were to the sea (they are currently not selling landview rooms due to the extensive development work going on at the land side of the hotel). Saying that, as others have noted, once inside you are really not aware of the building work and it becomes a background hum when outside.
The pools and private beach were awesome with staff never far away to prop up your lounger or take your food/drinks order. And the health spa/gym/hammam pools were outstanding.
Whilst there the hotel threw a "xmas lights switching on" party which went on till 1am with champagne flowing all night. A cocktail party on Xmas eve was also put on by management. In addition we received a fruit basket with choc and pastries plus a xmas gift. All totally unexpected. I can see why families return each year.
The hotel arranged a lovely babysitter for us (who worked as a housekeeper at the hotel during the day) for 3 of the nights we were there (£5/hr). The butler service is also there to attend to any requests (at a price, i would imagine)
The only downside would be the exorbitant cost of food and alcohol at the hotel. A club sandwich by the pool costing around £25. And £8 for a beer! Though the rotten exchange rate exacerbated the costs somewhat. Oh and the piped xmas tunes on loop in every location were like fingers down a chalk board by the time xmas day came. But i guess some people like that??
We had a fantastic time and felt like we were missing out on all the NY festivities planned when we boarded our plane on boxing day. We would love to return there each xmas and perhaps stay for 2 weeks next time...recession permitting.

This was our second stay at this hotel and this stay was even better than the last . Last year we stayed in a club room and we booked the same this year but on arrival we were upgraded to a deluxe suite. WOW, the suite was huge. A huge bedroom with 2 wardrobes, 2 arm chairs and a small table, masses of storage space with drawers everywhere you looked and a new 42 inch flat screen t.v. The living room was a complete seperate room connected by a door to the bedroom. The living room had 2 big sofas, a big coffee table, a 4 seater dining table with another 42 inch flatscreen. The bathroom had a huge deep tub with a seperate double walk in shower. This room was great because we could put our daughter to bed at night and go in the next room and watch a movie and have a drink without disturbing her. The beds were turned down everynight and little chocolates would be left for us. About 8 bottles of water were left for us everday. Also a huge bowl of fruit was left everday filled with bananas, plums, apples, pears, grapes and oranges.

The grounds are always immaculate. We always used the pool by the kids club and it was never crowded but there are 2 other pools to choose from aswell. There are always people walking on the beach or by the pool to take your drinks order. I would say that drinks are a little expensive around £7 for a non alcoholic cocktail and £10 for an alcoholic one but thats to do with the falling pound because last year the prices werent that bad. There are lots of restaurants to choose from in the hotel but if you drink alcohol with your meal it will be expensive. We had 2 evening meals in the hotel one at Al khaima and one at seabreze and with 2 drinks each the drinks ended up costing more than the food. 5 minutes away in a taxi you have the marina so there are plenty of restaurants there that are probably a bit cheaper but they dont serve alcohol. There is a good kids club and a little park next door to that. Our daughter went to the kids club everday but we stayed with her as she is 2 years old. You can leave your kids there from the age of 4. This hotel is one of the best, I never noticed the construction until i left the property. If you have booked here you will not be dissapointed, i cant wait to go back.

We booked a sea facing double room for 4 nights through Southtravels during a 2 week stay in Dubai / Muscat.

I had read prior to booking of the construction works to the rear of the hotel so we purposely booked a sea facing room. On arrival they asked if we would mind a room at the rear of the Hotel to which we declined. They then offered us a suite to the rear which after a quick inspection trip & the offer of a free bottle of wine and fruit hamper every day and an upgrade from b&b to half board we eventually accepted. Clearly the sea facing rooms are in high demand. The suite we were given was amazing! Despite overlooking the various building sites to the rear there was zero noise. It had a large living room separate to the main bedroom and huge bathroom. To say we were delighted with the room would be an understatement!

The service levels offered at the hotel are top class. Whether ordering food / drinks poolside or phoning for in room service the staff seem to endeavour to exceed expectations at all times.

Breakfast is buffet style with something for everyone. You can opt to eat inside or out & they even have a non smoking area outside which makes a change. We did not experience any queues as we generally ate prior to 8am although it did get busy after 9.30am.

Evening buffet was again excellent with a 'theme' everynight to save on monotony. There are numerous a la carte restaurants at the hotel which I am sure would cover all tastes, or the new 'Walk' nearby that had various mainstream restaurants opening should you prefer a cheaper option.

There are 3 pools to choose from, large gardens and of course the beach. We have noticed the beach / sea is not as clean as it was over the last few years as the palms have been constructed. We opted for the pools.

We did not find the construction noise intrusive but we did expect to hear it as we travel to Dubai every year. There was a speed boat race on during our stay which was very noisy, but could not be helped.

We decided to have lunch at Atlantis one day which was a nice experience (albeit an expensive one) and were pleased we did not stay there. Nice to go and look (as hundreds of people do!) which may get on your nerves if you were a guest there.

Overall, LRM a fantastic hotel and certainly rates as one of the best we have experienced in Dubai. We would certainly stay here again.

Just got back from Dubai and I must say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed. We stayed for a week with our 2 year old daygther.

Magnificent pool areas and very nice beach! Beautiful, spacious, clean rooms. Good service. Very nice breakfast. The spa treatments were also of very good quality and the gym was excellent. I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

Took a 4 night short break and stayed at Le Royal Meridien.
Hotel is very good class (large rooms, Hermes soap, etc, etc.) with attentive service.
Deluxe sea view room did not have a balcony which was a bit disappointing.
Beach and pool areas were nicely sorted out with lots of room for everyone.
Overall Dubai is still a bit of a building site and with the GB £ down to 5.5 Diram not as good value as it was.
Enjoyed the gold souk and seaplane ride was pricey but great views over the whole city and waterfront.
