We spent the first part of our honeymoon in Dubai staying at the Le meriden, it was in such a superb location with views of the Atlantis and the Burj from the beach. The staff are very firendly and helpful, rooms where very clean and provided with water bottles and clean towels daily. We would definitely return to the Le Meridien if back in Dubai, which I hope we will be as I loved it.

We had a weekend in Dubai and were glad we chose this hotel. We had a deluxe seaview room and I thought the view amazing! The rooms are dated in furnishings but is large and clean. I liked having a balconey, quite rare in gulf. Service was great and very friendly. We got a package which included 250 daily credit which was easily spent in Barista and the buffet at the Westin next door (see my other reviews). I like having the run of both properties, lots of space to find the perfect sun lounger position. The pool bar was great, nice view! The only thing i thought was off was i asked about an airport transfer and was told it cost 170dr, a taxi cost 65dr, most hotel shuttles are competitive but that certainly isnt! If Im back in Dubai I would stay again, loved the view, pool areas and Barasti.

My Wife and I stayed at the Mina Seyahi, for a week recently on a Half Board basis, in a Deluxe Sea View Room. We arrived at the hotel mid-evening, and were checked in efficiently and pleasantly by the Reception Staff.
Our room was on the second floor with a sea view, basically two floors up from the outside seating area of the Waves restaurant but this presented no problems from noise etc. Specifically from our room, we could see across the left side of the Palm Jurmeirah with the Atlantis Hotel in the distance, although something I was aware of before we left, was the hazy conditions that could present themselves at this time of year, and to that end, on a couple of days, you could only just make out the Atlantis. I would certainly recommend a sea view room, I guess if you are there on business it doesn’t really matter, but for holiday it’s far nicer, and whilst I’m sure the rooms are the same, we talked to one couple who had a land view room, and they said the view was not particularly inspiring – high rise buildings and construction areas.
Our room was clean and tidy, with plenty of room and storage space. It was serviced twice a day, with chocolates and a weather forecast card, for the following day, left on the pillow in the evening.
On our night of arrival we managed to still make dinner that evening and the food and service was excellent as it was to be for the rest of the week. Every night in the restaurant had a different theme, Mediterranean, Indian and Arabic to name but a few, and not the Burgers, Pizzas and Chips fare that caters for the usual Brit low life. The following morning we had breakfast which proved of equally good standard and service. There was always plenty of choice, Pastries, Fruit, Hot Food and a Waffle/Omelet Station. The staff would go out of their way, sometimes getting quite stressed, to ensure that your requirement was catered for.
Being in Dubai for week, we had planned three to four afternoon/evenings of sight seeing, and the rest of our time was spent by the pool etc. The hotel grounds and pool area were kept extremely tidy and clean. I can not give this top marks however, because we stayed at the Stella de Mare in Sharm el Sheikh earlier this year (see my separate report), which is a nearly new hotel where I think they comb the grass! Nevertheless the surroundings were very nice and sun beds in particular were the best we have experienced for support and comfort. You are able to use the pools and facilities at the Westin, next door, which were equally good, but we only went over there once for a couple of hours in the afternoon, and for a drink in the evening at their outside bar. The beachfront etc at the Mina was lovely and we did go in the sea a couple of times, but mainly stayed by the pool.
On our trips out, we either used a taxi for the whole journey, or got a taxi to the Metro Station at the Marina, and then used the Metro. The Metro is brand new, easy to use, and cheap. I always like to use public transport if I can when abroad, mainly to experience an area ‘at ground level’, the Metro in Dubai is superb, the only trouble is that it was so hot, that we had to get a taxi to the Metro Station, a relatively short journey which you would normally walk. Having said that, the taxis were ridiculously cheap as well!
As far as sightseeing goes, we went in to, what I would call ‘old or original’ Dubai, had a look round the Souks, having crossed the Creek by passenger ferry – 20p per person. We also went up the Burj Khalifa which was amazing for an engineering and sheer scale experience, but lacked the atmosphere/view of the Empire State Building and Manhattan for example. At the same time we looked around the Dubai Mall, and on a separate occasion the Mall of the Emirates, and whilst they are impressive by their size and shop availability, they are only similar to that which we have in the UK, and the goods are certainly no cheaper. If anything they are good for an evening wander in air conditioning.
You must however, re-mortgage your house, or sell your children, so that you can afford afternoon tea in the Sky View Restaurant at the Burj Al Arab. This was a fantastic experience and the cheapest way to get a look around want must be one of the most famous hotels in the world. Food, service, surroundings and views were amazing!
Back to the Mina, because I don’t think I would be actually ever staying at the Burj Al Arab, we had an excellent stay here, the service and general cleanliness of the hotel were excellent and the staff were always most pleasant and eager to assist, particularly in the restaurant. If I were to have one small criticism, it would be that there are areas of the hotel that may be looking a bit tired and out dated, and could do with a bit of a spruce up, particularly around the pool and restaurant areas. However this is easily accepted, against the many positives that this hotel has to offer, physically it may only be a four star, but the service is definitely five, and being smaller than many in the area you get more of a personal feel. I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again, or more importantly recommending it to someone else.

We stayed here for just a few nights before a flight, having came from other 5 star hotels on our trip it was a bit of a let-down, although it was all very clean and functional. We stayed in a club sea view room which has the advantage of the club lounge right outside the rooms for breakfast, evening drinks etc and a great view. Breakfast was the standard buffet western style but very good.
They have a few shuttles to the Malls (we found the Dubai mall to be the best, its the newest and biggest, yet they have very few shuttles to it)

Room Tip: Club rooms are better

We have been holidaying in Dubai for several years now & decided to book this hotel as it was near the new marina complex and "the walk". We flew in on the over night flight and on approaching the hotel we were supperised at how small and dated it looked. On arrival we found the staff friendly and helpful and the bonus was that we were given an early check in.

We stayed in a land view room on the 7th floor. I must say that whilst the room was clean and serviced twice a day we found that the fixtures and fittings were dated but it was comfortable.

Breakfast was in the wave restaurant. All of the staff here very helpful and friendly, they can't do enough for you. There is a very good selection of food on offer at the buffet including fresh eggs cooked to order and pancakes. If you wanted anything that was not on offer you just had to ask.

The grounds and beach are nicely kept. There is a choice of swimming pools. It was a nice touch being brought fruit and cold towels in the hot heat. We mainly used the adult only pool at the westin hotel.

The good thing about this hotel being small compared to a lot of the others in Dubai is that it was not over busy. Compared to other 5 star hotels we have stayed at in Dubai I would say that this is a very good value 4 star. We would stay again.

Fortunately we stayed at the Mina Seyahi for only one night, if we had spent the whole duration of our holiday here we would have been very disappointed. Upon arrival we were greeted with the smell of cooking fat, this lingered throughout the hotel and by the time we had finished checking in my hair smelt of it too. The service from the staff at reception was good however the immediate impression we got was that the hotel is in serious need of an update. Dubai offers an extremely high standard of hotel and Mina Seyahi does not make the grade. Our room was noisy and in serious need of an update. The shower head was broken and spraying water in random directions, the bed was uncomfortable and the sheets starchy. Mina Seyahi let's down the reputation of the Le Meridien group. My advice would be to avoid this place, Dubai has plenty of 5* hotels to chose from that are totally up to the standard you expect. Despite the disappointing interior of the hotel the grounds and beach area were very nice and very well kept. Beach bar was disappointing - food and service distinctly average.
