We took advantage of Gulf News Good Living Card and booked 12 seat table. We were two families together. Mahec is at the back of Le Meridien. Never had any parking problem. While entering the outdoor is very nice. Garden with waterways and rocks. Very beautiful and equally fascinating for the kids. They loved the turtles and the fishes in the garden.
Inside the restaurant, we were given a long table in the family area. The chairs are high back and velvety. Look very nice. The entire restaurant has a royal Indian feeling. Interior has been elegantly done.
We ordered 2 Kebab Platters and Samosas. Both turned out to be very tasty and kebabs were perfectly grilled with right amount of spices. Not more and not less.
Main course we had Mustard Chicken, Palak Paneer, Bhuna Ghost and Goan Prawn Curry. Palak Paneer did not live upto our expectation but Goan Prawn Curry was of top class. Fresh prawn in coconut and spice gravy so tasty and mouth watering as hard to describe. Not to be missed. Equally good was Mustard Chicken which was dry preparation and was served with a Chutney also very delicious. Bhuna Ghost was also nice prepared. We had bread basket where we enjoyed various type of breads in one order. Steam rice was the best to go when you pour the Prawn Curry on it and mix and eat it. Simply heavenly.
We had Sweet Lassi to wash down the food. The lassi was nicely churned and perfect in my standard. Very very delicious.
Mahec is very reasonably priced and being a part of 5 star hotel, it never had over pricing which we find at many restaurants of Dubai hotels.
We visited here in Ramadan for iftar but now we will be coming here more often for its food which is undoubtedly the best in all respect.
Thank you Mahec,
