Best to book online to get good rates. A land cruiser pick up from your hotel and drive out of Dubai.. once we reach the sands, the tyres are deflated to 15 (from 35) and then starts the fun.. try to avoid a full stomach just before the drive! Dune bashing is one of the most interesting car rides that i have had.. good fun and must do for a one time experience. Then we do a camel ride.. you can expect a shriek when the camel sits down with you on top! Lovely pictures you can take or even buy from them. The free mehendi is hardly worth anything, she tries to force you to pay and get an elaborate one done, if you dont, she just brushes you off with a 10 second design! The free sheesha is for apple flavour. and the belly dance, egyptian dance and the horse dance were Ok. Food was nothing interesting but the kebab legs were good.

A must do if visiting Dubai. Picked up from hotel in Toyota land cruiser. Drove to dunes and this was when got little scary. Not good if you don't like scary rides. The drivers were excellent and turned into boy racers so exciting. We stopped for sunset and super photo opportunity. Drove a little further to camel farm then on to camp. Very authentic and good fun, belly dancer and horse dancer. The food ok just a little tepid.

They picked us up from our apartment and we went to collect another guy along the way.

We drove for about an hour on roads East of Dubai, and then we stopped by the side of the road, the driver got out to let the air out of the tires, and away we sped into the sand!

It was a great experience, felt like a roller-coaster, as we drove through the desert, climbing sand dunes and speeding along the crest of some of them. It was a great feeling.

We were in the sand for about 40 minutes, with a stop in the middle to take photos of the sunset.

Then we continued on to a Desert Camp, where we had food and a show of Arabian dancing and fun.

At the end of the night we were taken back to Dubai and dropped off.

The whole thing lasted about 5 hours, and was a great experience to try.

We were picked up from our hotel sometime around 4 pm. Six of us plus driver were crammed into the 4WD and then we drove an hour or so to the conservation area. It was not a particularly comfortable ride for the 3 of us in the middle row of seats and a rather uncomfortable one for the two riding in the back of the vehicle. The temperature was still high when we watched an exhibition of falconry.in the conservation area. Apparently the temperature was rather too high for the falcon to perform for long! Then our driver took us over the dunes on a roller coaster ride over the desert sands to the Bedou camp - fortunately before our evening meal as by this time one of our group was suffering from motion sickness. The drivers are clearly expert in handling their vehicles, however some in our group who had driven off road vehicles in rough terrain for years were less easily impressed than some of the city dwellers who have not had those experiences. The Bedou camp was a bit of a disappointment, it was so obviously something of a tourist trap catering for large numbers of people and serving rather mediocre food. It just did not seem authentic in any way. Some people ventured on a camel ride. The highlight of the evening for me was the 'dervish' style dancing which was really impressive and nothing I had ever seen before. After that, we resumed our dune driving and as we reached the bitumen reflated the tyres on our vehicle and made the long drive back to Dubai.

Desert Safari was included in my package and enjoyed a lot. Things to be remember are, If you have motion seekness or vomiting tendency don't go for Safari. Children's should be taken care while safari. After reaching the start point of safari Driver will drop you at store and they will insist to buy towels which actually costs high. A third class fabric towel will cost you about 30 to 40 AED. Safari is just awesome and driver will stop at photo point. After that long drive in desert and reaching the camp its time to Dance, Dinner and Drink. Only alcoholic drink are chargeable.

Must enjoy this.....
