A long and beautiful desert safari. pick-up at around 3:30 at the hotel.
Around 1 hour of (interesting) journey to the real desert where the actual adventure starts.
Very amusing dune surfing (with a 4x4 SUV) for around 45 minutes (better if you have already digested)...then you get to an Arabian camp where you can have: camel ride, henna painting, try on Arabian clothes, belly dancing, Arabian dancer. Then dinner.
All very nice, except food that was not great (but edible).
Return to the hotel at around 9pm.
Price around 35 Euro.
Great fun, not to be missed,

1. Pre book. Always. Neve book from the hotel. Hotel will offer you 25pc more expensive deal camouflaged as a package
2. Wear beach footwear. Not shoes pls, else you will spend most of the time trying to get sand outta your shoes
3. Be on a light stomach. Carry water if you can
4. Tour starts with a long drive from the hotel to the desert. About 45 mins. First stop is a mini bazaar where you can buy some local stuff and maybe eat, drink. This is the time when the tyres of your suv will be partially deflated.
5. Then head to the desert. Next stop is where you wait for othe vehicles to arrive. They always make sur that there are some 5-6 vehicles travelling together. Not that its unsafe, just some more thrill maybe
6. Carry a camera, theres ample time given to click
7. Wear seat belts

Am not going to write anything about the real safari or adventure in the dunes. You go and find out for yourself.

8. Post the safari, you are taken to a camp. Sheesha, mehendi for the ladies, drinks (not included in the package) and then dinner. While you eat ther will be a belly dance performance. Veg food is available.
9. At abt 9pm, you will be driven back to the hotel or ur place of stay in dubai or wher you were picked up.

If you do only one thing whilst in Dubai go to the desert. It doesn't matter how old you are, if you are adults, families - this is a trip that just has to be done. And if you do it, make sure it is with Blondel D'Cruz.

This guy is seriously awesome and he was totally responsible for the great day we had.

He has lived in Dubai for 27 years - speaks great English and is just a joy and great fun.

We were picked up from our hotel by him and started our adventure. He does everything to make his passengers comfortable with good music and banter!

En route, we passed wild camels, stopped at a row of shops for a toilet break and that was an experience! Great traditional shops in the middle of nowhere!

We then did the "Dune Bashing" - this is an experience YOU HAVE TO DO. Blondel is just the best and it was an exhilarating experience and more than FUN! He is such an experienced driver that we knew we were in safe hands.

We stopped in the desert and took in the wonderful wilderness or it but also coupled with lots of young guys racing up the dunes in little buggy things!

Blondel then drove us to a Desert Camp and that was great - a choice of really good quality hot food served as a buffet. Soft drinks were free of charge. We were allowed to dress up in traditional arabic costumes and there were belly dancers and camels.

After everything, we were taken back to the door of our hotel.

The cost of this trip is so cheap that you can't afford NOT to do it.

I am going back to Dubai very soon and this is an excursion that I will do over and over again - quite simply because Blondel is the very best of the best and there is no better time to be had anywhere!

His email address is mavblond @ hotmail.com

We have experienced good with Lama tour. Safari tour experience was good, belly dance show was good, but free food at camp was too bed. Only enjoyed belly dance.
Self ride of scooter in desert was amazing.
I recommend LAMA tour for desert safari.

This is the one and only must do thing in Dubai. If you are going for a day, ensure that you book this. The experience is un-matched. The way the well trained, friendly drivers take the 4X4 in the sand, you will have an beautiful experience. Actually no words to explain it. When you see the cars in front of you fighting the sleep dunes and the G's on your car, the feeling in simply superb. This followed by the very able dancers in the camp, the nice food and camel ride etc.
