I stayed here for a couple of nights for work meetings. I'm glad it wasn't longer. The hotel is rather ordinary. Unfortunately, I didn't get to book, so upon entering the room, I was immediately assaulted by the smell of stale cigarette smoke. I imagine there are non-smoking rooms available, but I clearly wasn't in one.

Room was otherwise okay; comfortable bed, strong wifi, relatively spacious, but don't look too closely in the bathroom - I've seen cleaner ones.

Location was fine; it's not in the most energetic part of the city, but it's just 5 minute walk to the Internet City Metro station, which takes you most places throughout Dubai.

Overall, I'd avoid if you can afford something better, of which there are plenty of options in Dubai.

This has to be one of the poorest hotel when it comes to staff courtesy. There were bus load of tourists from Russia (a major clientel of the hotel - as most signage was in English and Russian, and even the check-in staff were all Russian speaking), who were all kept waiting in the lobby till 2 p.m. insisting they could not check-in.

So when i walked-in the lobby looked like a bus station in former soviet block with suitcases and tired people waiting to get a check-in. We arrived at 12 noon (by most standards a hotel can accomodate a check-in at that time ... it wasn't as if we had come at 6 a.m), we were very CURTLY told by the front-desk "Come back after 2 p.m." - no smiles and no acknowledgement for us as guest.

Now I had already pre-paid on booking.com and had a very good price, and so we just had to suck it up and wait.... so we headed for the only restaurnt in the lobby to have lunch and wait for the mad rush to finish. The food was extremely sub-standard.

After a lot of chaos and 3 hours of waiting, we got our room. The room was quite nice. The decor was in shades of white and silver - it looked fresh and inviting. But thats where the pleasantness ended.

I was only there for 1 night (thank God) was in Dubai from neighbouring Muscat to attend a concert. Even at check-in, the attitude of the staff remained indifferent.

IN SHORT --> STAY SOME WHERE ELSE!

I had stayed in Auris for 4 days. The stay was comfortable, but nothing so good about this hotel. I would like to make a special mention of "Krishna" at the reception. He really makes an effort to keep the guests happy, other than him other are very commercial and blunt. Food was average and nothing really amazing to mention. Good for couple of days stay but don't expect anything more.

Room Tip: All are same, does not make any difference at all.

Average hotel for Dubai standards. No wifi in the room, but only a wired option. Extremely little light in the room which make it almost impossible to read or do some work after sunset. Not much space for a laptop. Swimming pool is only there to tick the box as it is really too small to use. Food was ok, although the late dining options were extremely limited, so if you feel hungry at night you need to have junk food. Also no minibar in the room even for beverages, water or small snacks. No alcohol anywhere in the hotel for those you enjoy a hotel bar after dinner. On the plus side, bed was quite comfortable location is not bad, very close to the marina.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights beginning of October 2103. We requested twin beds on high floor. Upon checking in the only twin bed room available was on 5th floor overlooking demolition site so decided to take the king size bed on 19th floor was first offered to us upon arrival. Good view and quiet. We were allowed to check in hours earlier than planned without any squabbles which was great.
Our baggage was taken to room swiftly however staff member, SAMAD, who promised to book us on the shuttle bus to beach the following day, hung around awaiting tip. And no he did not book us on shuttle bus! obviously because he did not get a tip!!
Room was big for a studio with a sofa, small table & chairs and small kitchenette. Fridge did not get extremely cold but was okay. Housekeeping staff were good and would leave us extra small complimentary bottles of water.
Don't use rug - old and not clean. Roll up and put under desk. Large TV but not great reception.
Swimming pool on roof was good size though sun beds would be taken by 10am. Gym was adequate with good views.
Location was good as it was next to Metro station however it was difficult for taxis to find. Would often have to tell them hotel was on Tecom side of internet city, next to Byblos and TIME hotels. Taxis are readily available at mini roundabout just make sure they put the meter on as on the odd occasion when late at night they would try to give a set fee!!
Wifi only available in lobby and at swimming pool...not ideal but okay. They have two computers available for hotel residents to use free of charge.
Breakfast was the same each day, continental however had the best waiting staff that gave us the best table and would order cold milk for us without being prompted :)
Though hotel was okay I would not stay again, much prefer being closer to marina.
Defo not a 4 star but a good average 3 star. Do not pay any more than 3 star money.
Tip: take metro where possible, clean and safe and in gold class carriage. Use location grocery shop rather than head to Carrefour - 10-15mins walk around building site!

Room Tip: Get rooms on high floor opposite side to demolition site. Book complimentary shuttle bus to beach...

I stayed 7 nights at this hotel at the end of October 2013 in a standard studio.

The room - nice, big and comfortable king-size bed, sofa, table with 2 chairs, equipped kitchenette, clean bathroom, ceramic floor without carpet. I received a connected studio and through the closed door on the wall I could hear all the noises of our neighbors, including a very strong snoring. When asking to change the room with a normal standard one, I was told they will do it the following day. The next day I was told that the hotel is full and this is the only room I can get. The lobby was full of new guests who probably were taken to another hotel since this one had no rooms for them. I was promised that they will talk to my neighbor to not snore (wow!!! Dubai is full of magic power).

Breakfast - before booking I saw the previous comments on this issue and I’m not a breakfast lower, but the choice is really small, comparable to that of a 2-stars hotel. There are two breakfast saloons (ground-floor and roof-floor) both very small and sometimes you have to wait for your turn.

Roof-pool - small and very cold, I couldn’t enter.

Shuttle-bus to the beach - is a mini-bus which you have to book one day in advance. Usually all the departures are booked by 9:00AM.

For the first 2 persons in the room I would rate the hotel with a 4 and that’s because, despite some inconvenient, I’ve got a good offer from the travel agency.

For the third place I paid more than for the other two and I got a very uncomfortable hospital bed. Every day I had to talk to the reception and to the room boys that we are 3 and we need 3 towels. In two days I manage to take directly the 3rd towel, in the others I got only “no problem”. For this person I cannot give more than 1, which means an average of 3.

They will charge you 100 AED or equivalent which you received at check-out, IN AED!!!
A well stocked Carrefour store nearby, metro station close enough.

Room Tip: The green field in the main picture above is in fact a noisy construction site, ask for a room on th...

I booked in as a long term guest in August 2013.
I agreed a good price with the Sales representative for a 1 month stay.
Upon checking in I decided that the suite room was not adequate and requested to be moved to a 1 bedroom. (For which I paid extra)
During this time my experience was adequate. The staff were polite throughout the hotel.

One week before my stay was due to expire I emailed the sales person explaining I am staying in room number 1515 and I would like to extend for a further month. Please can you confirm?
I was emailed back confirming the price and the room number for which I was staying. I then went to reception to pay the requested amount and continued my stay.

So far so good.

But then the issues slowly creep in. Two weeks into my second month and the washing machine glass door shatters. This was quite shocking due to it being very thick glass. I call reception to inform them and they send someone up to have a look. He concluded there must have been a fault in the door as it’s strange for it to just shatter upon closing. He said let me come back to you in 15 minutes and we will either replace the washing machine or move you to another room.
I was heading out so I said I’ll be back in 1 hour and he said just ask at reception. I return and reception say they don’t know anything about it (even though I called them to report it).
I then bump into the technician in the corridor and he says he has informed them and we are just waiting to see what to do.

I was then travelling to Qatar so thought I will leave it with them thinking it will be sorted when I get back. When I arrive back the washing machine has still not been fixed. I call reception and voiced my sheer disappointed given they have had 1 week to resolve the matter and nothing has been done. I speak to the deputy manager and he kindly sends someone up to collect my clothes to have them washed.
I then get told it will be fixed in about 3 days……3 days pass and it still hasn’t been fixed. Personally I do not have time to be chasing the hotel up to fix a washing machine that they know is broken and hasn’t been replaced. A cleaner comes in twice a week and they can see that the machine is broken and again nothing is communicated.

Overall, my stay was adequate until these 2 weeks. I thought these things happen I will look to extend 1 more month as they had been offering me a good rate.
Again, I send an email to the Sales representative requesting to extend for a further month stating in the email I am staying in room 1515. They reply with a rate and it’s confirmed.

When I go to reception to pay the requested amount I get told that I had been charged incorrectly for the previous month. They said if I am to continue then I would have to pay an extra 1000 AED to cover the shortfall from the previous month. I was shocked. I had paid the rate that was sent to me and I signed all the paper work. Nothing was picked up on when I went to pay it at reception. But the incompetence of the sales staff and reception had resulted in myself staying for the whole month at a rate they would have given for a suite but I was in a 1 bedroom.

I explained it is not my problem that they have made an error their end. Everything has been signed and paid for at the agreed rate. To which the deputy manager says to me, if you don’t pay it sir then we will have to cover the shortfall. I thought this was the cheekiest remark ever. I explained that due to their incompetence I have to pay an extra 1000 AED after checking out on a rate that I’ve agreed and paid for already!?
Again, he says but then we will have to pay it. (I appreciate they are not paid very well, but this was their error)
I then went on to explain the debacle of the washing machine. To which I got the reply, the rate you paid you should have been in a suite and you wouldn’t have had a washing machine.

I was astounded by the lack of customer care and attention. The issue with this hotel is that they have a lack of communication between their own staff and nobody takes accountability. Therefore you are constantly just passed on until you get to the manager. The management are very protective towards their staff and find it hard to fathom any common sense and fully assess the situation.

I decided to pay the 1000 AED as I didn’t want the staff to have this amount deducted as they are on low salaries as it is. After this measure of good will from myself the manager then says to me…”can we have xxxx AED for the next month you are staying “.
Unbelievable! I explained to him in the nicest manner possible that I will be leaving the hotel immediately!!

I appreciate you pay for what you get. What separates good hotels from bad ones is SERVICE!
If there is an issue it’s all about how they deal with that issue. If it is dealt in the proper manner it can almost impress me further and I would give a better review.

Overall, I would be careful if you are to stay here. They may give you a discount and then decide they gave the incorrect discount and charge you on checking out.
