Perfect for both business and leisure travelers, the Melia Dubai may look very subtle from outside, but is a very stylish luxury hotel.
The contemporary elegance of the hotel with culinary experience are a real pleasure. Rooms are spacious and offer beyond expectations.
There are many options availabl for dining - 'SIGNATURE' by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Quantum Sports Bar for a casual evening for catching IPL with a drink and Alfonso X - the American Cigar bar are must visit.
The hotel has huge 10000 sq ft of YHI Spa offering Turkish and Moroccan bath options too. One has to book it in advance, and the experience is great.
A swimming pool on the roof-top, with a pool - side bar, offers amazing veiw of the city of Dubai. Location of the hotel is ideal, and shopping area is just about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
This is probably the only hotel in Dubai, that offers FREE Wifi !!!
Exteriors may look simple but as we enter the hotel, it's pure 5 star luxury, with great looks, good services and warm hospitality. I wish Melia- Dubai Best !

When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised having read all the mixed reviews on this site. We arrived at 7am and asked for an early check-in. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful and said we could check-in early and a discounted rate of approx £35 each as she could see how tired we were from our night flight. We thought this was a lovely gesture as the price should have been much higher.
Our room was also bigger than I expected and we had twin rooms as requested. The bathroom was impressive as it had a big egg shape bath, rainfall shower and lots of room however our shower constantly leaked and we had to use our towels to soak up the water. The maintenance man said he would come to fix it at a time suitable for us but we forgot to call back so that was our own fault! The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard. The towels and bottled water were all replenished as well. I cannot fault the staff at the hotel - each person we encountered was kind and courteous and always willing to help.
The pool on the rooftop was lovely and they even handed out bottles of water and ice cold towletts which was a lovely touch. It was never too busy or packed either. The views are amazing at night and there is a DJ playing house so we went up there for a drink before heading out.
The whole hotel smells amazing of citrus fruits/orange. We went for breakfast every morning at 6am (the time we got in from clubbing!) and enjoyed a lovely selection of hot and cold food.
I would definitely recmmend this hotel as it is definitely luxurious without being too pompous and stuffy. We always managed to get a taxi from outside the hotel as well...we never waited longer than 5 mins for one so the location of the hotel was fine for us. We were maximum 20 mins from most areas.
Thank you Melia for a wonderful stay!!!

Lovely hotel, had a really good stay here. The room was nice, clean and fresh and I love the air fresher that comes through the vents. The rain shower was spot on, just what I needed every morning. I love the fact that the hotel had 6 restaurant within it, the food was good and hanging our at the roof top in the evening was an excellent way to end each day with very good music. Overall, I had a good stay but it's a shame the hotel advertised to have airport shuttle service and on getting to Dubai, I was told that they don't have it, I felt quiet disappointed. But all in all, it's a really nice hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Quality of the hotel in terms of its appearance is great, definitely well thought out design and luxury feel. A welcome birthday cake and card also set a great tone on arrival.

Great efforts were made by management and concierge - especially Alexander & Abdul - in terms of providing a good level of customer service, however, it is a shame this is not the same for all other members of staff... in particular those in the sports bar and at reception. A great day out was supposed to be rounded off with a relaxing night in Quantum Sports Bar, this however was ruined when the bar man came over and literally forced us to buy drinks immediately or leave 'because it might get full' saying that we couldn't just watch the game and order drinks later on as it was a peak night. Considering we arrived half way through the game and there were exactly 12 people in there.... including me and my partner....I found this to be ridiculous. When you pay to stay in a five star hotel you expect to be able to use the facilities without prejudice and order drinks at your leisure, not pounced upon and almost forced out because you do not want to order straight away. No menu was provided when we were told we needed to order drinks, I had to ask for one. When he returned with it, he stood over us and waited. At this point we decided to leave.

On check-out from the hotel, I was told how much I owed, made the payment and a half hearted smile was given. I was not thanked for my choice of hotel, asked about my stay or welcomed back on my travels next time. This small but significant part of the check-out process is what makes a stay at a worthwhile establishment gain recommendations and return visits. Throughout my travels this is what I have come to expect and will continue to rate hotels on as it is the little personal touches which make it all the more special.

Though the hotel management apologized for the above, I cannot help but wonder why we had to experience this. I do hope that this doesn't happen again as it can put a real downer on your stay and potentially be your lasting memory of the service overall. As a gesture of goodwill, the manager provided us with complimentary drinks just before our transfer to the airport, this was very much appreciated and showed that this, hopefully, was an isolated event and that service was the overall aim.

Had the above incidents not happened I would have said that it was worthy of a better rating. This can, of course be improved. Worthwhile to visit nevertheless.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the iconic buildings of Dubai are great for early morning views of the city and late ni...
