“Decent Buffet Spread...Especially for meat lovers”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

Lal Qila has got quite a good spread of indo pak food. Pre-dominantly mughlai cuisine with a sprinkle of Chinese (Or rather indo chinese ). Lal Qila is basically set up in Mughal style, including the staff attire.Food is good especially for meat lovers. Very limited sea food variety. Desserts are also quite decent. The place is a bit dark though and is a bit crowded especially on weekends. They have a live station for kababs, which tends to get overcrowded at times. Reasonably priced at around AED 75. No alcohol served.

“Such a Disappointment”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Lal Qilla in Karachi can not be compared to the one in Dubai in any sense. It was such a big disappointment to get into a cramped elongated sitting hall. It was dark inside the restaurant The presentation of the food was pathetic and the ambiance was noise and lacked any umphhhh

“Good, but can be BETTER !!!”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

I recently visited this resto to give my friends a treat.

Nice ambiance, Nice food, not much varieties as expected.
There are other pakistani resto which serve the same quality and variety of food with less cost.
I would prefer to go there, rather than this.

However if you want to have a good ambiance and ready to pay higher for it, you can visit this resto and decide.

Would suggest to add more varieties in buffet.

“Not quite sure what all the fuss is about”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

Went here for a group dinner. So a bit like Friday Brunch, it may be untypical.
Dropped car off at valet parking OK.
Entrance to restaurant is not far away, but unnoticeable on right after entrance to an anonymous building. We wandered about with various signs for a couple of minutes before someone opened a plain door and there it was.
Joined rest of group. They had packed us right against the window. So if any of the eight on our side of the table wanted out, the rest had to get up!
Food was standard buffet fare and because we got there at 7 45pm instead of 7 pm the hordes had been at the buffet.
While each dish was labelled, the labels got moved, staff didn't reset them and the labels were printed small. So it was a bit "pot luck".
Having been to quite a few such Dubai buffets, this was probably one of the most average. Mulligatawny soup would have been nice if it had been warm and there was much left in the pot from which to be served. It was hard to see where there was any Indian bread. There was Pizza, but it was tasteless. Lamb and chicken were poor cuts full of bone and little meat. veg was OK. But NONE of the dishes were hot enough - the curse of the buffet! I chose a Kulfi fo dessert. It was OK but nothing special. My wife demurred.
We left and had to wait in 70% humidity for 10 minutes before our valet parked car was returned. A once in a lifetime experience. Not planning on repeating it.
