“Very good, but it didn't leave a lasting impression”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

I was at this hotel with colleagues for several days for a training. The facilities, rooms and service were good. The conference room with interpreter boot and simultaneous translation head sets also worked more or less flawlessly. The room was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless with bathtub (I had an average room, not a suite). The light in the room was quite dim and it could've been useful to have a brighter light too when wanting to work in there. I tried both the massage and swimming pool on the room, and both were satisfactory. The breakfast in the lobby restaurant was plentiful.

Although I have nothing to complain about , I still can't give it top mark. It lacked the extra charm or character which would have made it stand out. The pan-flute cliché music played in the lobby and in the hallways constantly got on my nerves after two days, and the techno played in the restaurant at breakfast seemed very out of place.

Big plus for the wi-fi which worked flawlessly.

Room Tip: If you get a 7 floor room, ask for one away from the night club in the floor over.

This hotel is set in an area with an abundance of similarly priced hotels and the service by comparison (I have stayed at several others nearby) was awful. On arrival they told us they didn't have the room we had booked available, after some discussion and us insisting on speaking to the duty manager we were told it was not available after asking for a full refund the duty manager asked us to wait for 10 minutes so he could see what he could do. After 20 minutes, he eventually returned to us and we were given the room we originally booked, the one that wasn't available earlier.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else, the room we were given has building work going on right outside and we were wok...

Have just recently stayed at this hotel for one night after cruising on Queen Mary 2.

There was some difficulty in checking in as those checking out to join the ship were checking out, however Ido not blame the hotel, more the travel company for bad organization.

However, although we had to wait, we did so in comfort in the bar!

Our room was excellent with a large ands fully equipped bathroom, robes and slippers etc.

We did eat in the hotel, but overall it was fine. It's location is a little back of beyond and it it surrounded by building sites.

If you are an avid shopper then the local Mall is both closes by and huge.

On arrival the bell boys were keen to help with luggage and after checking in our cases were delivered to our room.

However, next morning when we were due to leave for the airport, again they were keen to store our bags whilst we waited for the coach, but they failed to old them onto our coach, so the hotel gad to deliver them to the airport, which they did very quickly.

I would stay again.

Arrived here tired and sticky after a longer than expected walk from the Mall of the Emirates...which is very close on a map...but....

Stupidly had brought my wife's passport instead of my own and this initially caused some difficulties at check - in...however the desk clerk was extremely obliging and helpful.

We were given the key to our room and immediately went up for a quick shower etc....but on opening the door it was obvious that some-one was still in occupation...towels on bed, slippers on floor etc....so we beat a hasty retreat....talked to a person from housekeeping ...who looked shocked and walked away extremely fast.

After waiting for 10 mins...expecting him to return...we eventually went back downstairs to reception.

After some further intervention by the ever helpful desk clerk ..we were upgraded to a suite!

Lovely room ...lots of space, nicely decorated, jacuzzi bath etc.etc....but it had a somewhat neglected feel....still... happy days ...great value for what we paid.

The rooftop pool was lovely, cool and clean for an early morning swim...a nice way to start the day.

Where the hotel fell down was the little things that mean so much... Only 1 pod of coffee each for the fancy coffee machine..1 towel each,1 bottle of water (warm)..10 minutes for the water to warm up to run a bath...and the same for a shave in the morning..never mind 23 euro for a miniature bottle of gin and tonic from the minibar!!

Breakfast which is pricy but adequate ..but once again was lifted by the friendly and efficient omelette chef.

All in all ...not bad ...could do better.

The best points were the extremely helpful desk clerk and the friendly chef...

Well done to both gentlemen....as for the disappearing housekeeper...I wonder where he went!

Arrived here early from QE, but were welcomed by friendly staff & soon booked in to our room, were offered the use of the lovely roof-top swimming pool until our luggage arrived in our room. This was appreciated as the temperature was in the high 90's. Our room was large with an enormous bed ...wider than it was long. Fridge & tea making facilities, there were not enough teabags & these were brought to the room almost immediately. Robes & slippers supplied. Plenty of storage & TV, Couch , Tables & desk. The large ensuite has a bath & separate shower, toilet & bidet + toiletries. Not too far from the Mall. On leaving the staff were still their helpful cheerful selves despite Queen Mary passengers arriving before Q Elizabeth passengers leaving. Just one little 'niggle' there was a new hotel being constructed across the road....nothing new in Dubai.

Stayed there for three weeks, great food and friendly staff. House-keeping not upto scratch as i had to call for service and bathroom accessories most of the time. Rooms have poor sound proof you can actually hear conversation from the adjacent rooms. There is construction going on behind the hotel and the noise was very disturbing. Very close to mall of Emirates and metro. The hotel building is excellent ( like a ship in the sea, with blue rays of water) but the authorities can do better if they add some flowers, lawn, etc around the hotel to make it more appealing. It looks like a jewel in the middle of nowhere
