The Metro made it easy to get around town and beat the heat. Passes available also. I didn't like the people waiting to get on the Metro crowding the door before the riders had a chance to get off.

We bought day cards for the metro in Dubai (16 AED/person) and went all over. It's easy, clean, airconditioned and covers just about any distance you could want for.
One wagon is reserved for women and you are expected to respect this. If you don't, you'll be reminded by one of the staff right away. :-)

Be it be Cleanliness, be it be Circulation, be it be on value, be it be on service, DUBAI METRO is hard to beat.

In Dubai, if you are a tourist you do not need any other conveyance other than Metro.
All the shopping Malls, the tourist spots, offices (at least we found our TCS (TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES) office quite near to Internet City Station) are well linked by Dubai Metro.

If you are on budget and want to roam in Dubai no better option than Dubai Metro. Hats Off!! By the way I forgot to mention I quite loved the structure of Dubai Metro Stations too. It gives quite an alien spaceship station feel.

P.S: There is a stretch of Metro which links Palm Jumeirah (Atlantis) with the rest of Dubai. The journey in this part over the creak is awesome. Don't Miss! The ticket price is slightly higher for this ride.

Use this as much as you can. It really is first class and is very efficient. Doesn't go everywhere but has a lot of the major stops.

The metro takes you around the city for a cheap rate, so we took it whenever possible. However, I think it closes at 10:00 or 11:00pm and is not open on Friday mornings. For a few dollars more, the gold pass allows you to sit in the well air conditioned car at the front of the train with fewer passengers, almost guaranteeing you a seat. It is well worth the extra money, especially riding to or from the airport with luggage.
