“Worthwhile”

Interesting example of a large traditional Dubai house, and worth going to after the Dubai museum. Fairly central location (across the creek), but a bit hard to find on foot; had to ask a few people. Note: there was an excellent cafe just to the left of the place (when facing it), which I would recommend for lunch.

“A really interesting step back in time.”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

We got a real feel of old Dubai and it was free! There is also the opportunity to taste traditional food and coffee in the courtyard.

“Worth a look”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

Free entry and the Al Ahmadiya School is almost next door so you can visit both very easily. Close to the gold souk.

Lovely museum, well thought out, once the home of a wealthy merchant and now displaying many aspects of life in Dubai before the oil boom.

Set around a courtyard, it was fun opening doors as you are never quite sure what kind of room will lie inside. Lots of dioramas and life-size figures, audio visual displays, furnishings etc.

“A little treat in vibrant Dubai”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

This little museum is worth to visit. The house is renovated in a traditional way and gives a wonderful impression of the old Dubai days.
The visit takes about 45 minutes.
No entrance fee.
