The cuisine, known as Mughlai, is strongly influenced by Persia and Turkey and is known for its richness, with exotic spices, dried fruits and cream. Every evening, Amala serves an exceptional a la carte menu where guests are able to order as many dishes as they like at a set price. “Highlight of our visit - unique Indian food”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

We dined at the Amala on the last day of our visit - great way to end a trip to Dubai. The selection and range of unique Indian food was excellent. We had the chef's tasting menu which allows you to taste many different starters, mains and desserts!. You won't leave hungry!!. The tandoori pepper aberdeen angus steak was particularly good!. Service as you would expect was first class. Nice final touch was a small bag of indian spices and a recipe to take home with you. Even that was great when we cooked it on return home. Not a cheap meal but one you will never forget!.

“A Great Send Off”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

We dined here on the last day of our stay at the hotel and was not disappointed with the food or the service.

Great food and as much as you wanted. Had selections of almost everything on the menu. Good value.

“Open a branch in my home town”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

The Amala Indian restaurant is outstanding and excellent value for money. The service is friendly and efficient. We dined there a few times during our stay at JZS and always came away satisfied. Wish we had a branch in my local town.

“Best Indian restaurant ever!!”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Visited Zabeel Saray for the first time last night for a family meal at Amala. Read with interest the earlier reviews but fears were soon eased. Staying at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and used half board dining vouchers for 4 adults and 2 kids. The choice is good from the menu but we agreed to a selection chosen for us.
Our smallest one, a 3yo girl was given chicken and plain rice with a mild side curry and offers of fries and more.
Starters were very good with samosas, fish pakora, okra tempura and a meat kebab wrap of some description.
Mains included 6 dishes of lentil daal, chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, a tomato based lamb curry, butter chicken and a delightful Goan prawn curry with a great kick to it. All great tasting with superb depth of flavours and a range of spicyness. Served with a selection of naan and plenty of rice.
Good desert of ice cream, Indian sweet and pastry.
Above all the staff were very attentive, constantly offering more and were a credit to the restaurant.
All in all, a lovely family meal with great quality food and excellent service.

“Tandoori is tops”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

As we were staying in the JZS on the Half Board offer we had access to this restaurant. Although we have the limited menu the staff were flexible to allow us to choose something else if anything was not to our liking. For starters we used this flexibility to have seekh kebabs, we had a a variety of dishes for mains ranging from Lamb Chops, Tandoori to curry dishes and desserts.

We heard that the tandoori was very highly regarded, it was fantastic. We tried a mixture of desserts, nice Rassmalai and the peculiarly named Mawa roll turns out to be Gulab Jamun.

The only issues was the ambient lighting. It was too dark. If the food is so good, it would be nice to see it.

Still it would be better if customers of the hotels on HB had more of the menu to choose from.
