Description: From the moment you step inside Amala, you'll find the welcome is warm and authentically Indian. The cuisine, known as Mughlai, is strongly influenced by Persia and Turkey and is known for its richness, with exotic spices, dried fruits and cream. Every evening, Amala serves an exceptional a la carte menu where guests are able to order as many dishes as they like at a set price. Dine within the magnificent interiors or outside on the terrace, as you sample the varied flavours of North Indian cuisine through this truly extravagant dining experience.

This was by far the best Indian restaurant that I have been to. The service is top notch complimented by good food. It's a tasting menu so there is ample choice. We had asked for a selection of the best of amala and it was great. Sarin and team were great and accommodated all our requests. We are very difficult to please but this was the best dining experience. That I can remember of!!! We will definitely recommend it to our friends and will be back for more...

Our 1st visit in October 2012 was out of this world and whilst our experience in February was still good it didn't match up to our first visit and it's difficult to put a finger on exactly why........

We once again had the "all inclusive" menu at AED 285, the food was plentiful and the service attentive without being OTT.

Overall a good experience although for some reason the first visit seemed better............

If we were to write a short review it would read - "SIMPLY ONE OF THE BEST INDIAN RESTAURANTS IN THE WORLD!" However, the restaurant is so good that a short review would simply not do it justice.

Let's start with the location. Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is located on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah. This is from the mainland an additional 18 minute drive over some highly annoying speed bumps on the trunk of the palm, which for residents they consider highly essential. Amala is located in one of Dubai's prized jewels of hotels which enjoys one of the most lavishly decorated hotel lobbies in all of the UAE. This property is superbly managed and this is reflected in all of their dining outlets, spa and rooms.

We love good quality North and South Indian food and are super critical of high-end restaurants. Amala, in our opinion is one of the most outstanding Indian restaurants in the world. On our list of good Indian restaurants are Bukhara in Stellenbosch (South Africa); Bombay Palace NYC (USA) and The Bombay Club Washington, DC (USA), truth be told Amala outshines them all.

You pay a set per person price and can choose as much food as you like from the menu. This creates a tremendous variety of tastes and flavors presented in small portions every one of which was bursting with flavor and delightful to the taste buds.

We allowed our server to select almost all our dishes. A must mention for bread lovers is the great variety of freshly baked Naan bread - our personal favorite Garlic Naan, of which we must have consumed at least 10 baskets full between 4 adults. The restaurant offers a uniquely decorated inside area and an intimately lit beautiful outside area which has become our favorite choice of seating. January was a little cool and they provided a gas heater which did the job!

We consider the restaurant good value for money as a deluxe category outlet in a deluxe quality hotel. You will never leave hungry and having eaten there now four times we can say that this is most certainly our favorite Indian restaurant.

An absolute must visit - you will not be disappointed!!

Another lovely restaurant inside the zabeel saray. Lots of extra food kept coming out! For the British it is very recognisable Indian food, tandoori Chicken etc but all cooked really well and friendly service.

Thank Lynne A
