Hello,

Happy new year, I just wanted to take this time to give you some feedback regarding our visit to Atmosphere, and maybe provide you with some advice on how you could provide a first class meal with service that the setting deserves.

We was welcomed at the venue 10 minutes before our table was booked, a member of staff advised that our table was not ready and would we like to have a drink in the bar which we welcomed. After 35 minutes I approached a member of staff regarding our table, another member of staff then came over and apologised for the delay.

We then ordered our meals starter, mains and sides. One of the steaks sirloin was to be medium well, then second rump would be medium rare, when the food arrived it was clear that the sirloin was medium rare and then rump was medium well. We advised the waitress and she took the plates and subset of sides back to the kitchen, we then witnessed a heated discussion with the chef regarding the steaks. She came over and stated that the chef had cooked the meals incorrectly, and they were being re-cooked. The other two meals remained on the table and we decided to wait for the new meals to arrive. Sometimes you take for granted being able to eat your meal together in a restaurant, but I’m pretty sure that it is the aim of the restaurant to ensure this is the case. We then waited another 10 minutes for the meals, other tables were being served, it was clear that we was waiting before we started to eat there was not offer to keep the meals warm or replace them with new meals. After 20 minutes the meals arrived after I had asked who i thought was the manager if it would be long (the reply was yes they will be). After the meals had arrived it was clear that the side orders were incorrect and the sauces were also wrong, we then witnessed another heated discussion in the kitchen with the chef, after another 10 mins the side had arrived.

The waitress did apologies, however there was no apology from the manager or the chef regarding the food and service. I was then giving the full bill, with no apology from the manager , the manager was actually hiding as we left. I have eaten at some of the worlds best restaurants, who pride their self on high levels of service and the quality of food which is served. However after being really excited about eating at atmosphere, I was left very disappointed and could not wait to leave the restaurant (average food, terrible service, unbelievable setting). You really need to look at your levels of service, rather than arrogantly thinking that people should settle for second best.

Thanks

As a frequent visitor to Dubai for many years, I, along with my wife recently took my aging Mother on a fisrt time visit to UAE and booked well in advance afternoon High Tea at At.Mosphere Lounge. Guests are checked in at reception in the Armani Hotel ground floor foyer before riding the elevator 126 stories to the cafe reception. Although we were punctual, the cafe was running a bit behind and seemed generally disorganised with arriving patrons left standing around without any kind of greeting. On the day we visited there was a group of chinese who were pushing and shoving trying to take photos out the windows like it was a contest and the opportunity was going to be lost. No accounting for patience or style. After a moment, we were asked to wait at the bar for a few minutes until a table became available. The wait-service was functionary and a little disengaged. After we were seated we ordered a bottle of Laurent Perrier champagne which was delivered to the table unopened (highly unprofessional and I was almost tempted to send it back). The typical high tea served was high quality and quite lovely with a mix of finger food, dainty sandwiches and mini-cakes, etc. Towards the end of the tea, small scones were brought to the table but they were hard and dry and the only criticism of the fare. Although a hazy day, the views are not surprisingly spectacular. A visit to the toilets is also recommended as the views and fit-out are also worth experiencing. We probably would have relaxed and stayed longer with another bottle of champagne had the bar mob not become overwhelmingly intrusively noisy and their cigarette smoke intruded into the non-smoking area. It's time venues such as this recognise no smoking is the future. Apart from the smoke and pretty robotic wait-service the experience was overall very pleasant and memorable. At UAE Dhs 1670 (about AUD/US$460) this is not in any way a cheap experience by any measure, however we all reckoned it was as a once in a lifetime must do and so give a very good value rating despite the overall high cost. It typifies how smart the Dubians are at delivering top quality visitation experiences and achieving a premium for a premium experience. Just get rid of the smoke and get the greeting together and it would be just about perfect.

We had a set 4 course lunch which worked out at about £75 per head.

The food was fantastic and its a great experience eating your food on the 122nd floor. The views overlook downtown Dubai not the tourist area.

I hated Dubai. I won't ever go back so I'm glad that I ate at the top of the worlds tallest building.

Don't be fooled by the website menu for the lounge, it's changed. We had arranged a dinner in the lounge for 4 and then told that the menu has changed and its different to what is on the website, we were told to check the website regularly which we did the day before we went ! It's massively expensive and not what we were expecting so we left and had a great dinner at Teatro in Rotana Towers. Being a long term Dubai resident I should have known better than to waste my money in such expensive touristy places, for example I think 240 dirhams for 3mini burgers is a rip off. Won't be going again not that exciting apart from the view if you are lucky enough to sit near the window.

Thank pburns

If you travel to Dubai, a dinner in At.mosphere is a must. It is such great experience to dine on the 122nd floor, with an amazing view over Dubai, excellent cuisine and very good service.
The restaurant is very pricey, but it's worth every dirham you spend.

After arrived we were disappointed for not getting a window table, apparently the availability depends how early you book your table. During the dinner we told our waiter how much we would like to sit next to the window and if we could move for our desert in case a table becomes free. He said he'll see what can be done and some 5 minutes later we were seated at the window.

Everything was great and we enjoyed every moment spent in At.mosphere!!!
