I stayed here for three nights with my daughter. We had a very spacious twin room on the 14th floor with a huge marble bathroom and very comfortable beds. Housekeeping cleaned the room late each day and on the first day took our bathrobes and never replaced them with anything. We had an issue with the floor flooding the first time we emptied the bath but this was quickly attended to by a maintenance man although housekeeping didn't come to clear up the water until the next day.
For us the hotel was ideally placed, a five minute walk from 2 metro stops which we used along with taxis for our transport. It is close to Deira and the Creek and a reasonable distance from the airport, financial district and the Dubai Mall. The Marina, Jumeirah beach and Jebel Ali are quite a distance so not recommended if you intend to visit them everyday.
We ate twice in the hotel - both times by the pool. A late evening sushi platter which was very good and a burger and ciabatta lunch which was average.
The roof top pool in this hotel is fabulous. Super for sunbathing with comfy loungers and tables and at night it is transformed into a outdoor bar area where free margeritas for the ladies are available at the weekend.
The Kris bar is also a lovely place to sit and have a drink with magnificient views towards the Dubai skyline.
The staff here were generally good, check in and check out were efficient although I wouldn;t class it as "friendly". Two staff stood out as extra helpful - Giren the concierge and the pool attendant (whose name I've forgotten) but who always managed to get us sun loungers and laid out our towels.
Unfortunately I was disappointed by one staff member whose name I didn't get who we asked to amend a dinner booking for us which he said he would do and then didn't! We only discovered this when we phoned the restaurant to check our reservation and they told us we had been a "no Show" the previous night and no other reservation had been made for us. Fortunately they did have a table a half hour later so we still got to eat there. Staff should do what they say they are going to do!
All in all this is a well located hotel, good value for money but average in terms of service. If you just want a base for a short stay I would recommend and would probably stay again.
