Description: Part of the famous Grand Friday Brunch at Jumeirah Al Qasr, recently awarded Ahlan's Best Brunch in Dubai, not only is the Arboretum at Madinat Jumeirah something of an ambassador for Arabian dining culture and cuisine, but it's also a hub of great international food. Sumptuous all-day dining takes place in a light, airy and spacious environment. You can dine alfresco on our wide terrace - bordering the busy waterway and with spectacular views of the sea - or inside, under the ornate and cavernous ceiling with its iconic palm columns.

“Good, but you definitely pay for it”
Reviewed December 12, 2013 via mobile

Went on an early Christmas do for the well heralded Friday brunch with a group of 9 friends in early December. The food was excellent and the variety was vast, they literally have chefs on every part of the brunch ensuring that the food is of top, top quality. The food is all buffet which was not a surprise, but at 550aed you would hope service would be exceptional and it wasn't. We were often having to prompt several different waiters several different times to get the drinks that they do serve to the table and the rest of the drinks you have to go and collect yourself, which doesn't even happen at a 220 a head rotana brunch. Perhaps the staffing budget is too heavily weighted towards the chefs and not enough to the tables. In my opinion when a brunch goes beyond 500 there needs to be something that sets it apart from the others, i.e. Service or brilliant location and being honest, Zeng he's in the mina a salam is way better on both counts. The extra bit of price (450 for Saffron) as opposed to the Saffron brunch keeps away the party people and the atmosphere is very relaxed even with an average age of 40 I'd say. I'd probably not go back but can say I've done it.

“Fine buffet place”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Excellent buffet, go hungry to maximise your investment. Service very good, watch out for ankle biters running into your feet as you stagger back with laden dishes. Pretty informal for the Al Qasr and fun. Lovely outside, but need to book.

“Amazing Variety”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

This has to be our favourite restaurant in Madinat Jumeirah. The staff and the food are first class.
The variety of food displayed in the Buffet, both at Breakfast and Evening times, is amazing.
The Staff are courteous, smartly attired, and efficient, at all times!
The Training of the Staff, is clearly of a very high standard.
Will be back next year!

“Amazing Friday Brunch”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

After lots of research we decided on Al Qasr for the famous Friday Brunch, and we were so glad we did. It was busy and bustling, but that just added to the lovely, friendly, summer drinks party atmosphere.
The food was extremely varied and plentiful, and there is so much choice you are given a map when you sit down that explains all the different 'stations'. We chose the unlimited drinks option, at AED 550, which felt expensive at the time. But the waiters were very quick to keep filling our glasses with Prosecco and after an indulgent 4 hours of oysters, foie gras, mojitos and chocolate truffles, we felt like it was amazingly good value!
Next time we visit Dubai, I will certainly book again. Highly recommended.

“Throwing the food into the garbage in front of the guests its a massive disrespect”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

We only heard amazing things about this hotel's restaurants and we wanted to give it a try. We didnt stay in the hotel but after this experience there is no reason why I would spend a single Dirham in it.
We made a reservation in the buffet restaurant, when we called they told us the restaurant was open until 11:30 so we though that if we would reach by 10:30pm we still would have enough time to enjoy. When we arrived the hostess told us the buffet was closing at 11 o clock so that we should take all the food that we wanted, fill the plates as much as we can and put it in the table and that then we could stay there eating until the morning if we would like to. We are not the type of people that go to buffets to eat desperately, so we didnt appreciate that approach; then when we told her that they told us the buffet was open till11:30 she said that sometimes the people in the restaurant reservation are crazy and they say things like that.
Anyway, we decided to go with it and we sat down ordered drinks (which by the way came 20 minutes later). The buffet was already half empty and no one even bother to refill it for the last customers (we were not alone, there were still around 20 tables). So basically there was not much to eat. Plus the presentation of the food left was disgusting. Food all over the place, sauces spilled, no cutlery, sticky areas.
In the ice cream station the gentleman didnt even acknowledge that we were there and then another person came and took the cones without gloves or napkin and expected us to accept it (before he came he was cleaning the area).
At around 11 they started to clear the buffet and what a way to clear it. they were using massive garbage bins and they were emptying the trays in the garbage. Sushi, salad, everything.....We know you are throwing away the food, but to do it in the middle of the restaurant in front of everyone? definitely unnapropriate and disrespectful. It was not a pleasant thing to see and it was this what made the entire experience a disaster.
They brought the bill at 10:45 and placed it there, we didnt requested it, so it was a clear way of saying ''leave''.
We asked the chef who brought the pasta about our drinks and he said that the waiter is there so we can check with him.
Overall, far from being a luxury hotel and we will never go back and we dont recommend anyone to visit it. Very surprising to find such restaurant in this beautiful hotel. It seems that they dont pay too much attention to the service and quality here because for sure this restaurant is mainly used by groups.
