The airport pick up left me waiting 30 mins as they went to the wrong terminal. No apology. I would suggest taking a cab much cheaper and quicker in this scenario.

Check-in environment is chaotic and the general level of English of the staff is terrible.

Another point is almost none of the staff have any independence each one needs to always come back to their supervisor for even the smallest question or request and the process is very long.

There is a hard sell on going to their own restaurants and insistence that early reservations are required (although in practice many were quiet).

The quality of the rooms is high and the pool is good as is the quality of breakfast and food.

Beware of the bill upon check-out. I found numerous mistakes and to remove each error was a very long process. The receptionist Vanessa was without doubt the most rude and patronizing I have ever come across and each item was eventually removed at long last without apology. There is certainly more training needed here.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at the O&O, as everyone states the rooms, grounds, pool etc are wonderful and immaculate. For us the best part of our holiday was spent around the amazing pool, as this is where you spend most of your time on holiday, the service and staff around the pool area are very important and you just don't get any better than Guyan, Noel and Jacky, these guys made our holiday and are the reason we will return again and again, from fresh water all day to cold towels, fruit etc the list goes on and they really make you feel like royalty. They are a credit to the O&O chain!!!! We enjoyed all food, breakfast was good but our evening meals in Zest were to die for!!! We stayed in a Beach View Room on the ground floor, Room 903, and loved the fact we could sit out at night and view the city lights, watch the amazing yachts pass by and were only steps away from the beach. The hotel offers a luxury boat transfer to the main land where you can use the facilities at the other O&O where there is an abundance of bars and restaurant's. After staying in many hotels in Dubai over the last 12 years we consider this hotel to be the best!!!! and would now never stay anywhere else, we look forward to returning again in September, Thank you to everyone at the O&O, especially Guyan, Noel & Jacky and we look forward to seeing you soon Love Darren & Vicky Marks.

Spent a week visiting family but could not resist a stay for 4 days at yet another One & Only hotel; They knock the spots off the worlds best hotel chains! The Palm did not disappoint - particularly the public rooms and pool which were stunning. Service was exceptional - my husband particularly loved the sunglasses cleaning service pool side each day and the constant supply of refreshments and cooling towels. I loved the room - beach front with fabulous free standing bath, luxurious fittings and amazing turn down service each night! The Palm offered an escape from the noise and lights of Dubai centre. But once you are there kick back and relax - we ventured out one night out of idle curiosity to the Atlantis to enjoy dinner at The Seafire, which was fine but did not want to stay any longer than we needed to. - the step down in luxury was just too much to bare!

The wow factor for us was the room. Whilst maintaining an Arabic feel, it was modern, airy and homely. The entrance lobby to the villa was stunning - I love marble work and a staircase like that in my house if I ever strike it rich.

If you like to be quiet, our recommendation is to find a sun bed next to the lap pool at the gym. It is so quiet and a breeze seems to circulate.

The restaurants - I was nearly evicted in the evening as I had forgotten to pack closed toes shoes but come the morning, they didn't seem to mind what people wore. The let down was breakfast. They couldn't cope with a full house, things were forgotten (for example we didn't get a menu for a la carte options and didn't realise this was possible until we'd tried to find things on the buffet, chefs grumpy and passing you off to other people) and lack of available space to eat (we had to sit on a bar stool).

Some critters found their way into the room during the night so reported these to reception and I was asked to fill in a comment form that gets posted to the UK. Living in Dubai, it is fair to say we don't really have a proper postal system so wasn't worth filling in so I fed back to the reception manager but he just listened and seemed a bit too busy to really worry.

A lovely setting and you'll feel relaxed after a stay here. Again, we found that it was cheaper to book through the UK (Destinology) rather than book direct but the hotel offered an upgrade instead if we booked directly - which we did and was fab.

It is superb in every way, great service great food, first class rooms. Only 90 rooms, exceptional size rooms, the grounds are beautiful, the swimming pool as good as it gets. The only problem as i was on my own ordered wine by the glass, very poor selection, otherwise almost perfect.
