“We went back again!”
Reviewed November 7, 2011

The first time we visited was in May and have just returned from our second visit. It was so good the first time, we hoped we wouldn't be disappointed on our second visit. We weren't!
Once again the service, atmosphere and amenities were perfect.
The service started before we left England. We contacted the hotel in advance to ask them to book various restaurants for us and Amado, the Head Concierge, was brilliant and arranged everything for us. He's a fabulous asset to the hotel.
We had a wonderful room with floor to ceiling windows, overlooking the beach. Perfect!
The food was gorgeous and we ate at Stay, in the evenings, several times. It still is one of the best restaurants in Dubai. Faultless service and food. It really is worth a visit even if you decide not to stay at the hotel.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff are superb and the food is great. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Try the private boat when going out off The Palm. It only takes 7 mins. so is far quicker and far nicer than taking a taxi.

We stayed for a week in this gorgeous place. We were welcomed by our floor amanger and he took realy care for us, left his personal number so we could ring him any time we needed assistance. The rooms are perfect and a pleasure to stay there. But there's more to see: check out the restaurant Stay for example and again we were taken care of very well. Our booking was not processed correct, but no problem , we got a lovely table. The beach is very nice and quiet there is a nice breeze. The beach and pool staff are always nearby making sure you are comfortable and have enough ice water. If you want to order food or drink , whatever you want, they get it for you. This place is all about service and taking care of the guest in a stunning environment.

but service needs tweeking..
Hotel looks amazing throughout, pool is amazing and the beach villas are lovely. However some small service issues did move this down against some of the similar priced hotels. At the bar (101) invited 6 or so guests over. After waiting for what seemed like half an hour we asked one of the 8 staff talking behind the bar to take our order. Then we were short served 2 drinks and when we finally got them we got the wrong drinks. A similar issue when with another group of friends we asked for a simple meal at lunch time and were told we could only have tapas. Now, we were the only people in the bar and there was a more staff than customers. I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt to give us what we wanted. We ended up ordering tapas and were very disappointed at the size of the dishes vs. the price (even for Tapas). When I discussed this with the manager his attitude was apologetic but along the lines of "well we know what our customers want" at which point I had to mention he had none as we were off to get a late lunch elsewhere! You've got a great looking place dont ruin it with average service!

Room Tip: Go to 101 for a classy looking bar with a view. Go to Nasimi beach Atlantis for a busier environment...

I stayed with my family 8 nights in this hotel. The rooms are gorgeous, the design of the lobby and restaurants is amazing, food was very nice in all three restaurants but the view and the atmosphere was the best in the “101” restaurant. don’t miss it! Service was very good, people are very friendly. But the free internet from each room was not working properly -was on and off every 10-15 minutes and this was not nice when you have to work.
On the other hand the place is very quiet, you have your own quiet place on the beach but the entrance in the sea is not so nice , there are small stones at the entrance and some sea weeds. The swimming pool is very beautiful but is crowd and difficult to find places if you don’t go very early in the morning. All in all it was nice, too quiet for families with kids, not so many activities for fun, not a nice beach!!!!

Room Tip: Premier beach room

We stayed in this property on the way back from a wonderful holiday to the Maldives, which we were very disappointed to leave, however we instantly perked up when we arrived here. Great welcome on arrival shown around the hotel and taken to our beachfront suite. The room was absolutely stunning with everything you could possibly need. The pool was fabulous with massive day beds leading directly into the pool and luxury cabanas that could be rented by the day. The food was faultless, yes its expensive for alcohol, but its Dubai and only to be expected. Only negative would be the location at the very tip of the palm, means that to get there you have todrive up the centre of the palm and then rioght round to the end, but that didnt detract from a great hotel. there were also a few famous faces staying at the same time!

The hotel is small, at least for Dubai standards, with 90 rooms. It is located at the Palm, quite far away from anything else (15 drive from entering the Palm). The small size and location makes it a nice escape/oasis compared to most other Dubai hotels.
We stayed for 12 nights.

Rooms
We had a Palm beach premiere room in a beach mansion. While it was new, beautifully appointed with all the amenities one would need, I was still a bit disappointed, especially about the size and layout of the room, compared to room at FS and Amanresorts in the same pricerange. 65 square meters with bathroom separated from living/bedroom with half transparent sliding doors and no window in bathroom... It just felt less spacious and luxurious as other hotels that I have stayed in. If I would go again, I would at least choose one of the jr. suites. Bed very comfortable, aircondition great, good minibar/coffeemaker and bath products. Beautiful lamps and other decoration.

Outside is a small terrasse which is not very private. Firstly it is so close to the next rooms terrasse that it almost felt to be a shared terrasse and secondly everyone walking by can see the whole terrasse.

We had spectacular view of New Dubai, but did not really feel that we had direct beach access since we were located at the far end of the beach, where there are no loungers etc. This was OK for us, but make sure you specify wishes in terms of location when booking room.

Pool/beach
Great pool, but very busy. Hotel was fully booked and it would be difficult to get a lounger at the pool if you would arrive late. Lots of kids (school holidays). Service good, but sometimes slow, again I guess because of full occupancy.
Did not go to beach. While the view is "wrong" for me (skyscrapers), it also felt very artificial (man made beach, "inside" the Palm).
In addition to the main pool there is also a smaller pool at the gym where complimentary water aerobics/water jogging etc. was offered. Very good, but it should have been with music since this makes working out much easier for me.

Spa
Excellent. Had three great treatments with three different therapists, all really good. Beautiful spa as well.

Restaurants
Three restaurants at the resort, all with quite similar food - "international".
The Stay restaurant with star chef Yannick Alleno was really excellent and a reason to visit also if you stay somewhere else (save space for the fantastic deserts!!!), while the two other restaurants were amazing in terms of decoration but had mostly too bland food for our taste. Breakfast very good - a mix of buffet and ala carte, including an excellent juice bar. Service in all restaurants very good.
Quite stressful and bad that we - again because of full occupancy - had to reserve tables in restaurants sometimes several days in advance to get a place. I like to be more spontanous.
A shuttle boat (only every 2nd hour, but still) takes you to the sister hotel O&O Royal Mirage where there are more restaurant which I enjoyed more, indian restaurant, thai fusion, seafood etc. There is also a shuttle to Atlantis for restaurants there (and the great water park, dolphin bay etc.).
Lots of choise of restaurants elswhere in Dubai, but always a long ride with taxi.

Service
Generally excellent, both in restaurant, reception, spa and housekeeping. Remembered our name and preferences and made their very best for us.

we have just stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and were treated like royalty, it is the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed in, everyone is so attentive and eager to please. When you go down to relax by the pool, a man comes out and lays a towel down for you and all day long there is an endless supply of iced water brought to you and even a man who comes round to clean your spectacles for you. The rooms are wonderful, very stylish, they supply a bowl full of fruit daily, plenty of tea and coffee and some days a plate of homemade sweets would appear. Several bottles of water are left daily too. The food is excellent especially the breakfast. Do take the boat across to The Mirage and have a meal in one of the buffets over there.
