“Wonderful lunch program”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Had the opportunity to attend a cultural lunch program while visiting Dubai, and loved the experience. Tasting the variety of foods offered was great in and of itself, but the two women hosting the lunch really made the experience wonderful. They were very well-spoken, interacted with the attendees, and gave some good insights into aspects of culture and hospitality that I wouldn't have learned otherwise. Well worth the experience, and I hope to try a breakfast and/or tour program on future visits. Great way to learn about Emirati culture.

“A Cultural Treat”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

It's easy to visit Dubai and get carried away by all the modern buildings and attractions, but visit to the Centre for Cultural Understanding was a highlight for us. We attended the breakfast, which was relaxed and informative, giving us an insight to life in Dubai behind the scenes. The Centre is only a short walk from the Dubai Museum and the Souks so you can combine a visit there after your breakfast.

Joined the tour at 10 am. Very welcoming and informative. Open to all questions and answered with a pleasant sense of humour. Very detailed and we were very glad we went. Would highly recommend.

“A must do if you are interested in the culture”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Sitting on the pillowed floor, without my shoes, and listening to a local address religion, culture, traditions, the Dubai growth, the foods, the family, the clothing was just wonderful. I learned so much about humility and tolerance. There is a special breakfast or lunch with an Emirati. There is a cost and you should go with an open heart and mind. You will be amazed. Now, we had a terrific woman who encouraged us to ask all kinds of questions: Our group was mixed with local expats and tourists from all over. I´m not even sure everyone spoke English, but we all enjoyed the food and the demonstration on how to wear your dishdasha or abaya.

And do take time to wander around the stores and buildings. You will be welcomed in to browse or shop.

“Great intro to the culture of Dubai”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

It's a great morning visit. Wonderful staff, and a quick intro to the culture, religion etc. Someone very clearly explains the nuances of UAE culture and helps the non-initiated understand it from the local perspective.
